Thanks jess I am glad you liked everything.

I've already gotten a ton of compliments on your stuff. When they ask where I got it I get to sound really cool and say
"I got it from an indie jewelry designer based in New York" HA it's great

I received my jewelry from Jessf!!!

I was on spring break when the box came so I had to pick it up at the post office....it took all my will power not to rip into right there!...seriously though prepare yourself to be jealous. This stuff is amazing and extremely proffessional.

the pretty card

the four mysterious boxes..what could be inside??

behind door number one there weere three BRACELETS!

and door number two...three pairs of earrings!

and a beautiful hollywood oscars type necklace was in the third box

and finally for the big purple box..

this necklace is really long and the beads are beautiful...Jessf got my style perfect on this one...
This me me being all giddy about to wear my new treasures to class

again thanks everyone who made this swap fun especially CLASSYCRAFTER for all her time and effort!
and Jessf for being an amazing swap partner...I hope you keep swapping afterr this first one so more people can be as lucky as LuckyLally (hehe)

25  FIBER ARTS / Dyeing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Dyeing pointe shoes on: March 18, 2006 05:00:34 PM
RED POINTE SHOES!!!!!!!!!!!!

please be careful

red shoes tend to become possessed and have been known to be deadly

I suggest you see the movie "the red shoes" (1948)

just kidding I bet they'll look beautiful but you really should see that movie its a classic and you'll never forget it when wearing your new ruby shoes
26  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Men's Clothing on: March 18, 2006 04:53:03 PM
mens tut's might be hard to find because in my experince most tut's seem to be for skirts and dresses...

I would check out the recon page (right below completed projects) if you are just starting to sew it is easier to start with something and turn it into something else then starting from scratch..I would also learn how to make a pair of pajama pants.

as for learning to sew mens clothes I would become a master at inserting zippers, buttons and button holes. Most mens clothes have one of these features because other than sweats ...men tend not to wear strech knits.

I alway commend male sewers who sew for themselves because mens clothing is VERY difficult to make

the idea of the weights reminded me of chanel jackets.

in most Chanel jackets there is a small and thin but heavy chain sewn into the hem to keep it hanging correctly. you could do something like this...you can buy a long thin chain and just thread it through the hem...

but I wouldn't really worry about the wind blowing it up...depending on the length it will just blow it tight against your legs.  but not up

it would take one hell of an upwards wind do blow your skirt up so you are exposed ...
