91  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Interpol embroidery! on: August 09, 2005 02:17:38 PM
i love it and i want to see those dolls. Grin Grin Grin
I'm working on that Paul Banks one right now.. I'll post some pictures of the Carlos doll when I find them. Grin

hehe! I think it turned out nicely. that's him in your avatar, no?
Yes, it is! That's from when I met the band because of the doll. Carlos loved it and said he was "flattered" and would love to meet me. He also said that it looked like a South Park character.. o.O

Is Paul Banks next?  I've been thinking about making something Interpolish for my best friend who LOVES them, but without a pattern I'm pretty sure I can't.  Was it difficult?
He'll be next after I finish the Paul doll (the doll's name is "Big Pimpin' Bankies"..). It wasn't that hard at all.. I just took a picture of him, line-vectored it, then traced that onto the pillow. It was really easy after I was finished vectoring him.. And I didn't really mean for it to become an embroidery project. So it was very easy. Grin

And thank you all for the nice comments! Cheesy

Before you read this, keep in mine that I mostly sew purses, wallets, and stuff like that.. I'm not much of an embroidery person.

I started embroidery a while ago, and as my first project, I decided to embroider the face of my favorite member of the band Interpol onto a plain white pillow that I made. Please note, I made this a couple months ago, but finally got around to posting it.. I need to go back and snip a few threads that you can see underneath..

It's Carlos! I know he's faceless, but that's because I don't do eyes/noses/mouths so well..

I really want to give it to him, but I think he would be scared to receive a pillow with his face on it.. and I already gave him a hand-sewn doll, so that should be enough for now.

I plan on doing the rest of the band when I get more time..

Feedback, anyone?
