1  Drop-Stitch Scarf-turned-shawl in Knitting: Completed Projects by Br1na on: January 22, 2006 04:55:31 PM
My first project was the drop-stitch scarf on knittinghelp.com, and the pattern came together really quickly and easily for me.  I've been thinking about a shawl, since my office is bloody freezing, and eventually decided that I could adapt the pattern into shawl-form by adding increases and decreases!

So, here it is, my first shawl :

I tried to work the pattern above about .. six times.
Then I tried to do it with a variation on knitty's Branching Out - but I couldn't get the size right without messing up the pattern. (I'm totally making that scarf next, btw)

then I came across this : Vanessa

The motif is quite similar, I think, and its turning out rather well so far! No froggage yet. I'm about twenty rows in :

All in all, I'm quite pleased.  I need a strap of some sort, and the ruffle is crooked, but overall, I like it!
