Well, the lovely Sweetttart3 has sent me a whole new package after the first got lost in the post  Angry Angry Angry
And what a package it is!! I came home after a slogging hard day at work- and yay, so much crafty goodness!!!

Here it is- the nanna schooner t-shirt! I rang my cousin to brag and she came over straight away to check it out in the flesh- she's sooo jealous  Grin

Sweetttart3, it fits perfectly
PLUS I got a gorgeous martini necklace- she's made the beads herself out of polymer clay, I love the olives the best  Smiley

Super cute swizzle sticks (that made it without breaking, unlike mine)

And candy, including a '6-pack' of sherbert (hee), and martini magnets

There's also some super cuty red and white buttons earrings and red elephant earrings I forgot to take a photo of- will try to do so tomorrow

Thank you soooo much Sweetttart3, it was definitely worth the wait  Smiley Smiley

AND WITH THAT, I DECLARE THIS SWAP OFFICIALLY CLOSED

She's really cleaned out my wists for this one- the best thing is she knitted the fiesta tea set!!

Knit_core has a much nicer pic, they're a bit squashed

This baby is going with all my other teapots. Here it is with my much beloved felt sandwich  Grin

As well as all that, I got sokme rockin fabrics  Smiley Smiley

A teacup pincushion

Retro stickers, stamps (with a poodle!) and ice cube skewers

AND the coolest retro cards (can I just send cards to myself??)

THank you soooo much Knit_core, it's just the greatest package ever!

I think I have received, I got a card in the post box when I got home from work to say I have a package waiting. Now I have to sit through a whole day at work before I can get back to the PO!! crap!

Here's a pic of the second package. Using our theme of fifties retro, I made a mobile, inspired by the work of sculptor Alexander Calder who was really influential, with a dollop of the space-age atomica thrown in

I took ages to work the wire into shape and making it balance, I hope it survived the trip. I was pretty impressed with myslef when I was done, but I don't know when I'll work myself up to making aother one  Tongue It's also really hard to take a photo of a mobile!

14  Sock frog *with tutorial* in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by jane feebles on: August 21, 2006 06:40:26 PM
I've always thought the empty body for a sock monkey looks like a frog, so I made one. He's pretty funny. His new owner's named him Google

He was easy to make
Here's the pattern from the socks

Follow a similar construction to a sock monkey once it's all cut out:
-Stitch legs inside out, leaving the gap in the crotch open, bag out and stuff. Slip stitch the crotch shut
-stitch the arms inside out, bag out and stuff. THis bit was difficult because I made them quite skinny and they're running diagonally across grain of the sock, so they don't stretch.
-Once the arms and legs are stuffed stitch 3 lines down the feet and hands to create the webbing
-stitch arms to frog
-run a gathering stitch around the edge of the eye circles, gather and stuff and stitch closed
-stitch to the top of the frog's head
- then embroider a mouth (I followed the line of the toe seam) and add some crazy buttons for eyes

Viola! A sock frog!!

oooh, i was just about to post that- Thanks jane!
See the beautiful scarf she made out of the salami stretchy stuff, so smart. It's a really nice lightweight scarf
And how gorgeous is the pin?
Here's a closeup of the coaster photo frame, notebook and 'french' cuff

I'll have to find a photo from the day I nicked all the coasters to put in the frame  Smiley

Filbert is gorgeous!!

Ok, so it's official. I'm on Australian customs' blacklist. My package got held up in quarantine again!
Have a look at all THIS AWESOME STUFF TEAPOT MADE ME  Grin Grin Grin and tell me what looks suspicious...

Everything (that thing down the bottom is origami beer (!) I can see how that might be classified as a foodstuff)

All my beautiful handmade buttons!! So many, I don't know what to do except play with them and gloat

Details of the textures on some of the buttons. the terracotta coloured ones have a cherry blossom imprint on them. My camera doesn't do them justice

Glow in the dark wonder woman stitch markers!!! Those are red stars inside the glowy bit, and on the gold beads

ANd, best of all, tiki stuff! I asked for a container to keep all my scissors in, and also got 2 candle holders. You can't really see, but the light's glowing out of their eyes and mouth. Plus 2 ... swizzle sticks? I'm not quite sure what these are. I'm a philistine  But so gorgeous, look at the wood texture!

I'm having a party this saturday night, and these little fellas will be guarding the nibbles table in pride of place! (I'll have to find some hibiscus)

Thanks soooooo much teapot, you're the coolest summer fling a girl could have!!  Kiss

And please, if anyone can tell me why this package had to be inspected and take an extra 2 weeks to get to me, I'll buy you a beer. Origami of course  Smiley

20  Nautilus cloche in Crochet: Completed Projects by jane feebles on: August 04, 2006 09:45:10 PM
I made this cloche for determinedimprovistion- she's reallyy nautiluses (nautili?)
So I made up a cloche that looks a bit like a shell and crocheted a little nautilus that goggles his little legs where the flower would normally go...

I was pretty pleased with the nautilus- I just freeformed him using a couple of pictures. I didn't even know about the knitty pattern until determinedimprovisation told me how much better mine was (doh!) (But I think mine does look better  Tongue)

Hope you like!
