21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions / Re: Butterick Pattern Purse. HELP. PLEASE. on: June 27, 2007 05:30:29 PM
I don't have the pattern but I think I know where you went wrong.
In step 1, your sewing the two edges of the right sides together of the outer fabric.
In step 2, your doing the same thing to the lining fabric, but skipping the open section on the side.
In step 3, layer these, one inside the other, with right sides together.  Match up the unfinished edges and stitch around the top of them.  I'm pretty sure this is where things got out of wack for you.  If it still doesn't work for you, let me know.

23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: 7 year old aspiring designer.....any sugggestions???? on: June 22, 2007 07:11:34 PM
I had a barbie fashion designer thingy - the one that came with the light table.  I eventually graduated to buying a pattern book at the end of the season and using tracing paper to trace the basics from there, then added my own details.  This website has some other things that might help, if not now, in the future.  http://www.costumes.org/ADVICE/1pages/renderinglinks.htm

25  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Latest News / Re: 6/9/07 - Craftster got a face lift! on: June 22, 2007 07:04:22 AM
I don't have little dots but the yellow is fresh and creamy and the green resembles.... dead olives.   I tried adjusting my monitor and it did help... more of a pea green now.

Either way the site rocks... Thanks guys!

whew... I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks the green is a little off and I'm glad it's just a monitor issue, I'll try adjusting mine.  I didn't say anything cuz it's not a very pressing issue but I'll admit I was wondering why someone would pick that particular color of green Cheesy lol

28  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Re: old doors on: June 21, 2007 09:14:22 PM
The is a post on here somewhere about mounting them on your wall to use as a headboard.  They also look cool if you hinge 3 together to use as a room divider.

It would be a great idea to collect one from each of your swap partners or to have it's own swap... where everyone mailed a button to each person.

I work at a museum and it was recommended to store things in ziplocs, not neccesarily sealed unless they're mildewed or need to be frozen to preserve it.
