Here is a link to a knitting glossary for French terms.  Here is a page on how to knit, where I was able to decipher many of the terms by looking at the pictures.  But the first link is probably more helpful.

Wow!  It's beautiful, veronique!

Mine's Cinnabar from handpaintedyarns.co m.  I really liked the way Buki's looked with all the color variation, so I decided to copy her yarn choice.  Orange really isn't my color at all, but I can make it work since I'll be wearing it over something.  I decided to make the camisole, since delay of gratification can be difficult for me.  I want to finish this as soon as I can.  I still haven't gone back and fixed those dropped stitches though...

I started the hem frill last night.  I'm knitting and knitting and feeling smart and happy, and then tonight I come to this:

And I'm like, "Why is this hole bigger than the others?...oh crapppppppp."  I somehow managed to drop 3 stitches somewhere, and I can't figure out where.  I'm going to have to unknit and put on my thinking cap, which is an ambitious endeavor at 10pm.  So I'm having a wine cooler and debating leaving it until tomorrow.

P.S.  It doesn't look that crappy in real life; I just neglected to completely flatten it out on the scanner bed.

My yarn finally came today.  It's much more orange than I thought.  After seeing buki's yarn, I went to handpaintedyarn.com and got the cinnabar color.  It looked kind of pinky-orange on my monitor.  Oh well--I'm not terribly disappointed.  Buki: did you get gauge with the recommended needle sizes?  I have to go out and buy needles tonight.

Normally I hate knit dresses--99% of the time they don't drape right.  I love this one, though.  I ordered my yarn and Rowan mag tonight.  Hopefully they'll arrive sometime next week.  I also hope that this isn't too hard for me; I'm adventurous, but sometimes stupid.
