i have some very fancy fairy ornaments that hang from heavy duty hooks that stick into the bases of plants.  when one of them broke, i used a hanger to remake it.  basically, it is just a swirl to hold the ornament and a straight end to go into the dirt.  works really well. 

awesome job!  those are really cute, and somehow "old-fashioned" at the same time as being "futuristic."  cool.

thanks for the comments! weirdly enough, because of the shape of the hood (which is basically a rectangle with a seam up the back, it didn't fit on my dog at all- it kept falling off of him.  so i think if you were going to make one for a dog, it would need to be more sloping than how i made it so it would stay on the dog's head.  good luck!

i love this! i love milagros and sacred hearts, and the colors are great- very vibrant.  nice job!

So I didn't use a pattern or anything for this, because after looking at some of the others on here I was too daunted to try any of the patterns...  So I whipped it up from a hand towel and a regular towel.  It's probably too big for a baby, but I thought it would be good for a toddler.  (Though modeled by my dog, it is not actually for him.)

Towels shed A LOT.  So there are a lot of rolled seams on this bad boy.  All in all, I'm pretty happy with it.  

they are all super cute!  i like the detail of the webbed fingers on the mermaid. 

Not having a job or money at the moment, I needed to make something for my mother for mother's day from things I already had.  I have had this skirt for six years and I only wore it once! But I loved the fabric, which was why I couldn't get rid of it.

It was heavily pleated so I cut off the top band to make a long rectangle of fabric and used some old curtain fabric that a friend had given me as a lining- a lime green canvas-like material.  This gave the bag a great structure.  I took apart the top band to get rid of the bottom part of the skirt and hand-sewed it back together to make the "latch" and the strap.

The bag is 13" tall, 12" wide and 3" deep.  Great size for magazines, which my mom loves!
