so i bought this dress years ago for a dressup afternoon visit to Canada's wonderland with a girlfriend of mine.  yeah, we're kinda weird.  it was floor length black polyester, with the bust in the co-ordinating green-and-blue ohso70s flowery print.

the embroidered flower in the green-and-blue neon polyester was already there... i can't take credit for that.  but i did shorten the skirt immensely, remove the zipper from the back and resize it, hem the waistline and add the ruffle, which took 3 aggravating tries on my machine, but after much cursing, i finally got it!  i can safely say i'm no longer a ruffle virgin.

hello all.  this shirt was a gift from a good friend of mine- she had a matching one.  the one thing that always bugged me about it was that it was a size or two too big... i like my shirts tight!

sooooo i decided to fix it and make it into a fancy lil tank inspired by ohmystars.  i got the white cotton lace from a local fabric store at the low low price of $1.50/m.

Hello all.  This is my first ever post here at this lovely lil community, though I'm so happy to have stumbled in here.

I've recently rediscovered my crafty side.  I love love love to knit, and in an effort to further my patience, I just purchased a sewing machine and made it a goal to learn how to use it.  After many many frustrating hours learning how to thread it, I finally made something wearable.

Much thanks to Leah, crafster admin extraordinaire for her tutorial on making a pillowcase skirt... that's the one I used and it worked like a charm.  It only took 2 hours, and though the stitching isn't very straight or even, I don't care because I love it!

My pillowcase was bought at Salvation Army for $2.99... and here's how it turned out:
