12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / first resin attempt - buds, bats and glitter on: May 22, 2008 07:14:23 PM

Strawberry flowers

Grape leaf

13  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / first ever poly clay creations - roses and hibiscus? on: May 22, 2008 06:40:06 PM

Inspired by the flower necklace in this post
I decided to try my hand at making flowers- that didnt turn out as I had planned
I had some clay lying around from another project that also turned out badly- I dont think clay is my forte

but I like these....

I made two different roses.. or maybe theyre gardenias
this one came out best although one of the petal broke off

this one has the center smushed in

Im not quite sure that to do with them
any ideas?
14  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Discussion and Questions / have any of you used these resin molds? on: May 13, 2008 02:45:05 PM

I want to make large resin pendants but the molds I bought were too small for what I want to work with
so I was wondering if any have use these molds
and whether theyll make flat squares and circles

I dont want anything that will dome
and Im afraid the bases will end up being square frames instead of full squares
anyone for suggestions?

16  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / faux chinese paper lanterns on: May 07, 2008 10:16:33 AM
so after seeing the lovely lanterns crafter for the dollar store challenge
artNcraft's original post with tutorial here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=238457.0
I was inspired and made my own

sorry my bed is unmade
theyre made using coloured popsicle sticks
and white tissue paper
except the yellow one
since it was my first lanterns I used some old paper we had around
that my brother lovingly coloured with a purple marker  Undecided

the truth is mine didnt come out as good as the originals but theyre nice, right?

17  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / beachy shell necklace for mum on: May 04, 2008 06:52:53 PM
she picked out the shell pendant when we were at Michaels so I put it together early for her
Im not all too good with curving eye hooks yet so theyre kind of crooked but you cant tell
and of course my mom loved it.... dont they always?

modeled by my mum

comments and criticism would be appreciated
thanks! <3

20  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / musical wall art [picture HUGE] on: April 20, 2008 03:44:22 PM
I was inspired to do some music themed wall art

The whole shebang

This one Im least proud of....

Here's the skinny..
I used freezer paper for the guys
and then used a stencil to trace out the shapes for the
music related ones and free hand painted them
now that Im looking at them Im not too keen on the colour combinations
what do you think?
