I didn't stumble upon this thread until today and looking through my halloween pictures I realized I didnt have any good pictures of my costume.  So here are a few from the halloween weekend and if you piece them together you will get an idea of how it all came together.  I also put it on my dress form to show (at least partially) what it looked like.
Essentially my costume is made up of a handful of peacock feathers, a one piece bathing suit turned inside out with green and turquoise boas stitched around the edges, a skirt that was originally made for a tinkerbell costume, turquoise footless tights, and my green thrift store shoes.  Also a mask that drove me crazy the majority of the evening.

so i had a bunch of blue bead and wire so a necklace must be made.
i scratched up a crochet needle, but the sacrifice was worth it.
the pictures are not what you would call "quality" but its new so im getting the hang of it.

this was the first thing i ever sewed with my sewing machine, and i put the stencil on also.

So this is my first post ever.  Im keeping my fingers crossed that it will all work out.  Here it goes...
     

So this is the shirt that cost 2 dollars, and all of the embellishments that i used, i also purchased at the thrift store for super duper cheap!  The outfit reminds me of a Victorian Cowgirl for some reason, I think Victorian b/c of the frills and lace, and cowgirl b/c the shirt style.





The skirt was originally a table cloth. ($1.50 half price items are great!) its has a great victorian style print on it, that you cant see too well from the pictures (sorry, it's just my camera phone, but he's holding up wonderfully) I just made a circle skirt and sewed some ribbon on it and put bows on the bottom.  the waist band was this neat elastic stuff that i found, and its all see-through and slightly scandalous.



and this is the jacket i bought for 5 dollars b/c it was pretty much the coolest thing i saw all day.  when i started crafting is when i realized it would be superb with my outfit and i wouldnt even be exceeding the price limit.  double bonus.
