1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Stitching INCHIES Craftalong *JOIN IN ANYTIME!!* on: August 17, 2014 08:38:18 AM
Sorry I've been away for a while, everyone, a few other projects have been taking my time.

As you might have guessed, I'm in the final stages of my stitching.  I hope to finish this project today (but I said that to myself yesterday, too)

sheepBlue, I absolutely adore your cute little peas in their pod Cheesy

katara and Ludi, you both have such precise and neat little stitches, I love how you've done your lettering.  I know I always have to find a pattern for them when I stitch them

blupaisan, that's very good use of that found paper.  I love what you've done with it, it's a great inchie Cheesy

Ludi, awesome skull Smiley  I still have to try embroidered fridge magnets myself.  Love the border on it, too!

Abeeroad, great geographic inchies.  The NJ state does look very patriotic.

Ludi, love the deep colours of your onion Smiley

I have quite a bit that I need to show you all, but I'm thinking I'll save it until I'm done
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Butterfly Cross-Stitch Necklace on: August 17, 2014 02:44:29 AM

While I was on holiday, I picked up the August issue of CrossStitcher magazine.
The free gift was this sweet Butterfly Necklace kit.

It didn't take too long to complete, although I made a few small colour changes in the purple shades.

Purple's my favourite colour to wear and I love butterflies so much Smiley

Oh my goodness!  Your bears are so most incredibly sweet, rockingbearranch Smiley

PerfectlyBohemian, your birds are great!  Is that mostly split-stitch you're using for them?
I love how your embroidery makes them look so feathery Smiley
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitted Dress guidance requested on: July 20, 2014 05:09:42 AM

Thanks for helping Cheesy
Garnstudio is an awesome site with lots of great patterns.
So I think I've narrowed it down to four potential patterns, and will probably pick the easiest to try at first.

I'm definitely going to get the equipment and try out any stitches I haven't done before as early as I can, so that I can get a good result when I come to make the dress Smiley

katara, love your beautiful flowers and pretty little heart Smiley

sheepBlue, looking forward to seeing your newly inspired inches!

I've just been trying the feather stitch this morning, an interesting challenge Smiley
I'll admit I hadn't heard of it before, but it's pretty cool.  Would make a nice border, I think
6  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Knitted Dinosaur Toy on: July 17, 2014 12:30:41 AM
I got a copy of Let's Get Crafting Knitting & Crochet #62 the other week and my guy requested I make the dinosaur toy pattern.  It was quite fun to knit, even though it took me a long time Smiley

I made a few alterations to the pattern, some intentional (like not using all the spikes) and some not-so-intentional (like ending with a blue nose instead of a white one).
I'm still quite pleased with how the little guy turned out.

That cute little face, with its button eyes Smiley

Thanks everyone Smiley
8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Craftalongs / Re: Fairy garden / enchanted space craft along anyone? on: July 14, 2014 12:30:18 AM

So super interested Smiley

I've never made a fairy garden before, so would love it if I could make my first one alongside others Cheesy

Thanks everyone Smiley  I definitely enjoyed making that square very much.

Nice work, sheepBlue, your deep blue critter is so eye-catching Smiley

Great start, rockingbearranch!
The coffee square has such a classic elegance, as does your adorable birdie with all those beautiful flowers around it.  Cheesy

I finished two more squares this weekend:

In the top left corner, you can (just about) see my needle and thread square.  The silver thread isn't photographing well for me, unfortunately, sorry.

The middle row, third square from the left is my sewing machine square, with seed beads for the dials.
