1  Re: seventeen.portraits(not literally)(update 2 - christmas cards on page 6) in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by littleblue on: November 13, 2005 01:17:39 PM
gahh im flogging you all with my art. i just finished this card like 5 min ago lol

thanks for the kind words you have no idea how much they are appreciated.
scrappygirl - thats the expression i was looking for!!. when i looked at the purple ribbon in the card with the 2 ornaments it looked like liquid jelly'ish ribonny stuff and i dint no how to describe it. thanks . and yea i will be applying to a poopload of college schloarships its my goal to get a full ride pass go and collect 200 lol ( for all you monopoly fans) thers an art college fair somewhere in rochester newyyork and i'm going to have to beg me mum to take me. Cheesy

aly - i love love love your icon. i dunno why its just so deuced cool. lol i'm such a lloser for stalking your avatar lol. thansk for teh compliments

lovliness - would you belive when i first strted coloring that i thought i had ruined the entire card by giving her a green and not a purple dress? i was so angry with myself and after drawing a whole new outline all over again and inking it i messed up on the eye lahes so in final frustration i went back to the green dress picture. and it turned out to be the one my mom lurves.

lyrem- cant wat! Grin

my next few ideas are to snow - people? lol a snowman and a snow woman kinda cuddling under somw missletoe and ofcourse the snow man will be blushing. thwyr'll be in  windtery background and i'm going to try a unique border for teh inside that my mom suggested. i'll be doing doves holding ribbons in theyre beaks.. uh more birds... a really detailed accodian card of that one crhistmas song that goes said the shepard boy to the little lamb? do you see what i see? a star a star shining in the night with a tail as big as a kite.. except all the proper lyrics will be ther insted of the hack job i've just posted lol i cant remebr the way that song goes for the life of me.that one will sell for 2 bucks cuz its gonna take me quite a few hrs. and that all for now. adios Cheesy and once again. Thank you

- question to you craft mods - should this have been in a new post?. or was it better i odnt take up space on the board. i just thought its like adding new cookies to a batch of old ones. blech. just wondering Huh. andy ways enjoy! wait lol. one more thing. i need prints if i'll be able to sell these and others in time for christmas . i think i will just start a new post when i post the other cards. where can i get good high resolution glossy remakes of my cards to sell and how much would it cost. i live in niagara falls new york so i cant go to a shop in like masachusetts or oregon unless tehy have a website. please mind my location lol i have a hard enough time pushing my self outside the door of my house for anything besides church and school. i'm a hermit. Tongue. ok NOW i'm done. enjoy

i'll make two posts because this is gonna be very image loaded. my apologies for slower running computers. Undecided i hope the images are worthwhile when they load. enjoy the eye candy

i lurv to make cards for all kinds of occasions.when a birthday popped up i jumped at the oppurtunity.  Cheesy heres one i recently did for a friend's birthday

his names chris and hes shooo nice . he rarely gets the encouragement/compliments he deserves so heres a lil somrthing from moi Smiley i used prismacolor pencils for the color and just went all out on the drawing itself hence the need for color shielding shades lol. i made a poem on the side and had the beggining letter of each sentence spell out chris. poetry and art in one.
hope yall like. card anyone?

holy moly i havent been here in a while. thanks so much. Kiss
aly- arent they just the bomb. oh i lurrv my prismas with a passion lol
cacarae and eirenn i'll pm you both in regards to your posts. once gain thanks for the encouragement i'm so very happy peopel like my work.or such an "awesome" artist lol i really over critique my work and forget that it really is a great job ,something to be proud of. i was staring at them a lil whle i ago and started thinking hrmm... that one looks abit off .. that ones not to well shaded i had to pause and give myself a mental slap lol saying c'mon now. theyre fine. be proud. the people at crafster wouldnt lie. in my own way i guess i'm a bit insecure about my art. thank you all so much for you lifting comments . i decided to take decibels advice and post the orig pic of one of my portraits. the portrait i posted was in its unfinished stage though ,if you look closely you can see lil scribles near the face. those were notes to myself on what i need to change and improve and tottaly erase lol to get a better resemblence but it just seemed to show up better that the finished one this ones at a slant though. i posted it anyways . i think i'll post the finished one along with this orig pic too so you guys the see the diferences in them and the changes i made  here we go -

i smoothed the hair in  this one which kinda took away from its punky look and didnt quite finish the shading on the fur. in the finished one i also touched up the nose brows and ears and tried to elongate the space btween the nose and mouth. i added shading underneath the eyes for a more dramatic effect. i really posted this unfinished pic too soon now that i'm actually wrirting down the differences in the finished and unfinished i think whoa the unfinished i posted looks really bad. eep. i posted much too soon. i cant post the finished one though either because its hanging up in the art section of my school. do'h! i just remebered that.this is one of those times where you just wanna kick yourslef in the toosh for being so obtuse. Angry. grrr.. i hope you guys see the general resemblence btw the two  even though i failed to fix teh details here.  this picture isnt my own taking i got this one from a site called photosig. i really wish i had taken the time to jot down the photographer's info. were doing citation in english class. its pretty much giving proper credit where its due and now i feel like a plagarist  Embarrassed eep. i'll try to look for the photographer. heres the website www.photosig.com  i hope thats a step towards giving credit  albeit a lil one. thanks once gain . oh and in regards to the card i drew for chrish i havent even gotten a chance to give it to him yet and wont till monday aurghhh. my mom took it to work to show her friends and one of them took it to see where i can possibly get info about how to duplicate my work since mass production is so time consuming escpecialy when its in color.
;;sigh:; i'm gonna write him a note saying i made him one and that i'll get it to him asap. oh fooey! Undecided
i was so excited at the thught of getting to him 2morro
