1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Gato Muerto on: December 02, 2014 10:06:22 AM
And here's my last one for the day (sorry, I've been holding on to them because things were so busy).
This one was actually pretty difficult to photograph. The pattern is from Urban Threads (http://www.urbanthreads.com/products.aspx?productid=UTH4887)

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Owl on: December 02, 2014 10:03:15 AM
Here's my owl made from the Dia de los Muertos Owl pattern on Urban Threads. I was stressing about how to fill in those little petals around his collar. I started with satin stitch, which I didn't like around the round edges. Then I tried to just backstitch it, which was a little empty. Then I ended up using a couching stitch with contrasting colors.

I keep getting pucker after I wash my pieces (you can see it in between the chain stitch on his beak). Anybody have any advice about that? I thought working in the hoop was supposed to stop that from happening.
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Toothless hoop on: December 02, 2014 09:57:00 AM
Here's my Toothless (although I took the drawing from a WikiHow http://www.wikihow.com/Draw-Toothless).

It's the first time I used the Fabri-Solvy, and it was amazing! It did, however, prevent me from seeing how dark the fabric was against my thread.
