1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Wedding Cake Topper on: May 20, 2010 12:57:26 PM
My fiance and I are getting married in October. I was wondering if there was anyway to make our own cake topper?
Now, this isn't going to be any old, ordinary cake topper, no.  Everyone thinks my fiance looks like Doug Funnie (from the 90's Nickelodeon cartoon) and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas on how I could make a Doug Funnie and Patti Mayonnaise cake topper? Or if anyone could make one, I would be more than glad to pay you for it.

Thanks for your input

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Paisley Purse-thing on: December 20, 2007 07:55:53 PM
So, I found this fabric at Walmart and instantly fell in love with it.  I had originally planned on making a big purse out of it, but I changed my mind. lol. (I'm a girl I can do those things. lol) I ended up making it rather small and using it to carry my Bible and Sunday school book.
Onto the pics:
Outside, hanging on my closet door.

Inside, filled up:

A view of the pocket and pen holders:

Overall, I'm really proud of it! I'm not too happy with the inside, but nobody will see that but me.

4  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / I love Lucy on: October 07, 2007 11:02:47 AM
I made this for my friend, who, loves Lucy. lol.  I didn't make the bag, I just bought it b/c I don't really have time to make a bag AND stencil it. I used the freezer paper technique and I must say, I love it! It bled a little around the edges, but I think that's just b/c the bag is denim.

The whole bag:

This shows the color the best:

All those rhinestones were freakin hard to put on there! I was thinking about buying some red ribbon and sewing it around the top to pep it up a bit. What do you guys think? I was also thinking about redoing the straps in red or something, at least making them a little longer b/c there kind of short.

Feedback is super appreciated!
5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / The Hulk!!! on: August 27, 2007 07:59:00 PM
So my b/f kind of requested this one. He said it would be cool to have a Hulk turtle and that's about as close as he gets to actually asking me for something. lol. So, I finally got around to finishing him, hair and all.  I must say though, I'm rather proud of him. Especially the hair. Anyways, enough rambling, onto the pics!

This one wasn't nearly as complex and detailed as the others. His hair was a bit difficult but I just needed to figure out the best way to do it, then I was fine.

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Superhero Turtles! on: August 07, 2007 06:46:28 PM
So, I saw these (http://www.crochetville.org/forum/showthread.php?t=40998) turtles and I fell in love with them! I've made my b/f 2 now. A spidey-turtle and a Captain America turtle. I didn't get pics of the Spidey-turtle though. I also made my sis one (no pics of that either  Undecided). And I made my b/f's nephew a Symbiote Spider-turtle for his birthday. He loved it!
Anyways, enough rambling, onto the pics!
The Captain America Turtle:

With no shield:

And just the shield:

Symbiote Spider-Turtle:

That's all I have pics of for now. Hopefully I can get my b/f to bring Spider-Turtle over so I can take pics of him too.

Thanks for looking!

7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My awesome new camera cozy [very img heavy] on: July 18, 2007 10:00:57 PM
I guess I'm posting this in the right forum....
I crocheted myself a new camera case earlier! I'm super proud of myself  Grin!
I'm not really sure how I did it, I just kinda crocheted and didn't really count much of anything. lol
Anyways, onto the pics!

I added buttons to, I guess you could call it the 'front':
They're my favorite part!

Flap open:

You can kinda tell that the button hole and button are slightly off center, but I don't care I still love it!:

My phone in it so you get an idea of how big it is:

A close-up of the buttons:

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Turtles and buttons and paint pens, OH MY! on: July 05, 2007 06:35:17 PM
So, I've had this brown shirt for a while. I bought it w/ the intention to spice it up and I finally did tonight. I sketched the turtle onto some posterboard-like material and traced around it w/ pen, then traced over that w/ a silver paint pen.  I also sewed on the buttons.

Before the button "spots":

The whole shirt:

Close-up of the yellow/pink/orange "girl" turtle:

Close-up of the blue/green "boy" turtle:

I was thinking about adding a bow to the "girl" turtle just to make sure that everyone knew that she was, in fact, a girl. lol.
What do you think?

My sister got a Dora the Explorer pillow and I got a polka dot one! Yeah, enough talking onto the pics!

Spiderman:

Thomas:

Polka dot:

and Dora:

They only took me about an hour for each of them. That includes measuring, cutting, stuffing, and sewing. They're super comfy too!
