1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for help finishing my pixel portrait quilt of Tom Hiddleston on: March 20, 2014 10:06:55 PM
Hello! I just finished the top of my first quilt. I've been working on it for a year, and now I'm looking for help finishing it. It's a portrait quilt of Tom Hiddleston (he played Loki in the Avengers). It's 40,000 1-inch squares of fabric, 1/2-inch finished. The quilt measures 100 x 100 inches, and the background was hand-stamped with some of my favourite quotes from the complete works of Shakespeare. (It's too small to see in the photographs, but if you read the blue and green squares, the quilt also has a secret message written in it)

I am currently looking to contact a long-arm quilter who would be willing to finish my quilt so that it can be stabilized and hung. It's a challenge to quilt because of the density of the seams and the complexity of the colours. Any advice or leads would be welcome!

If you have any questions about my process I would be happy to answer them, however, I am self-taught, so I don't always know the correct terminology to use.
