Yes, this will probably have to wait a while. Maybe later sometime there will be more interest.

The saying is like Eeny Meeny Miney Mo in German.

Hi,
I will qualify for swaps mid-July or so and was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Samurai Champloo swap maybe later this summer or in early fall? Would anyone be interested in coordinating it? (I figure I should participate in a couple before organizing one.)

I don't quite qualify for swaps yet, but will soon. I would be interested in this one!

spillyjane,

I also think it's great that you're being so respectful and thoughtful about this.

thanks...yeah, the last thing i'd ever want to do is deeply offend someone offhand.  sometimes i think i err on the side of caution too much, but there's nothing wrong with that, really.

I think it's erring on the side of not co-opting other cultures - no problem there at all. That's a whole separate topic, though!

I recently bought some 1950s to 1970s books with the same type of illustrations you are describing (space stuff, old cars, school book-y diagrams of the human body). I was thinking of scanning some of the picures and printing them out on iron-on transfer paper for t-shirts.

Are the encyclopedia pictures shiny? The above idea might not work then. How about using them to cover small notebooks or handmade journals?

I used to love using rubber cement but I found out that it's rather dangerous.

Why is rubber cement dangerous? Does it give off fumes or something? I haven't used any in eons.

No, but I recently discovered Microcosm Publishing out of Portland - fantastic. I ordered my husband some zines from their Web site for Father's Day. I really recommend having a look at their Web site. (BTW, I am not associated with them in any way - just a happy customer!)

Good luck, and I would love a copy of yours.
