11  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cell phone cozy on: July 05, 2005 10:26:43 AM
After tiring of carrying my cell phone in my pocket, I decided to try making a little cozy that I could snap only my belt loop or purse.  This one is my first attempt.  Wearing it works real well, but the strap was a little too short for my purse. (It stuck straight out, unfortunately.)  I think I will try it again with a slightly longer strap to see if it will lie better when attached to a purse strap.

12  CLOTHING / Costumes: Completed Projects / Indy costume (Image heavy) on: July 04, 2005 08:27:01 AM
This past halloween my son wanted to be Indiana Jones and after seeing btlgrl's fabulous costumes I thought I'd share my son's also.  I tea dyed the shirt to give it a dirtier appearance and then scrounged around til I found other items that would work.  The only hat I could find that resembled Indy's at all was a white felted plastic hat that I spray painted.  I hope you enjoy...he still loves getting into it lol.

Our zoo has a halloween night and as soon as we got to the South American exhibit I knew I had to use it as a backdrop.  One of the buildings is designed to look like a Mayan temple.

Sorry for the large pics....I really need to learn how to shrink them.
13  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Sunny summer dress on: June 18, 2005 03:37:17 PM
I found this sheet while searching thrift stores for interesting raw material.

As soon as I saw it I knew it would be perfect for a sundress.  It's my first attempt at making something without a pattern and I think for a first attempt I did okay.  I'm happy with the results anyways.  Grin

Thanks for looking.
