1  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / krylon spray gesso? on: July 17, 2014 08:34:43 PM
So has anyone tried it on polymer clay as a primer?

I know spray paint and polymer together is normally a big no no except in some cases, but I have seen a few instances around the net that said they had success with it without their projects going sticky.

I bought some and sprayed it on some discs of clay to test it out, but I thought I would ask if anyone has tried Wink

Thanks for letting me know

I would love to go to a miniature food making class but I don't know of any in my area either.  Huh

Have you tried getting a few miniature food making books? there are some really great tips in some of them for food making.

I have "The Polymer Clay Cookbook" with some simple ideas in it and "Miniature Food Masterclass" with some more advanced stuff =D
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Discussion and Questions / Fimo pastel line? on: April 16, 2014 10:50:21 AM
Hello everyone!! Iv been busy busy crafting away but I came across a little snag in my claying fun.

I recently discovered a few of fimo's pastel line colors with scattered availability in craft stores near me. I found "mint" at a joann fabrics and "peach" at a Michael's but I can't seem to find the rest of the line and I'm just dying to get my hands on the "vanilla" because it looks to be that perfect washed out yellow shade iv been seeking. the "rose" and "lilac" look lovely too and would be a nice replacement to the sculpey 3 pink and purple i have been using. (I prefer fimo because its not as soft and my finished projects look cleaner)

SO! anyone know wear I can find these colors?

I have found them all in EU shops online, but in US shops they only have one or two from the set and no vanilla color D=

This is the project I'm currently working on that I need them for.

The mint is made from Fimo "mint" lol, the strawberry and blueberry(purple) is Sculpey III and the Banana yellow is made from a mixture of clays...and I HATE mixing clays because of the amount of time it takes away from what I would rather be doing which is sculpting and decorating ;o thus my need to get my hands on that vanilla Fimo <3

These are so much fun! I love the little charms. I started to redo a pair of boots and then got bored and set them aside, its a lot of work and you have to do it twice! I should go back and work on mine some more.  Cheesy

aw the hearts are cute. have you tried a bit of mineral oil to soften it? baby oil or conola oil works too, at least thats what I use to soften clay for frosting. Iv also read that some people chop it up realy fine first before mixing or try putting it in a baggie then sit on it for a while so you heat it up lol and it will be a little softer then if you just dive right in and warm it with your hands while kneading.

Shocked!!!!! yoshiiii! I adore it! I didn't know polymer clay could be used like that to mod ponies, can you just pop it right in the oven?  And have you thought about adding a cutie mark like a pair of yoshi eggs? I guess he doesn't really need it because of the shell but it would be cute. Great job.
