1  Re: Help me choose! Which design would you like to recieve as a wedding gift? in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by _androidette on: August 03, 2005 03:30:01 PM
thanks for the replies so far!

(I too adore Kurt)

I have another option (because I'm pretty partial to the message in #2...)

How about putting two together?  Like side by side?

Which two would you choose?

_I would combine #2 & #7 -I really love the message on #2-

Perhaps something like this?

I am obsessed with off-centered designs

2  Re: help finding cowgirl embroidery pattern. in Needlework: Discussion and Questions by _androidette on: August 01, 2005 11:39:18 AM
_I found one image on my entire collection of nine CDs that you could perhaps simplify -I also discovered that the 20s is/was illustrators favorite period-

I also found this amazing pair of cowboy boots.

6  Re: Help please.. Stencil Holes in Stenciling: Discussion and Questions by _androidette on: July 15, 2005 10:32:42 PM
_Evidence that is 'doable', this was for a presentation class I had -on my first semester, almost five years ago-, the idea was to make an stencil & plaster it on Fabriano paper -watercolor paper- with spray, black spray to be more specific.

My first try -Dal- [The problem here was that I used another fabriano to make the stencil & when it got wet it made a mess. -I got a 90 there-]

& here is Bjrk, using contact paper -I got a 100-

A close-up of the "hole"

The original photo [that had to be taped to the back of the final assignment]

Bailey B. -aka Mr. Puppy wanted to be in the picture, so why not-

Dal & Bjrk, stencil N 1 & stencil N2

Excuse the low quality of the images, the boy took the camera with him & all I am left with is computer camera.

9  Re: I've figured out the best way to stencil EVER. A must read. (tutorial and pics) in Stenciling: Completed Projects by _androidette on: July 10, 2005 12:01:33 PM
vectors? resized... whatie?  cleaner sounds great...  more info (please.)

_Vector graphics are defined by lines instead of pixels (pixels are the tiniest dots that compose an image. Think of any image you enlarged, if you see tiny "squares" on it those are the pixels)

Here is a graphic example

Original Picture [ David Lachapelle 2001. {source}]

Stencil (vector; made @ 4:00 AM without any attention to details)

Stencil (Photoshop's threshold)

If I wanted I could enlarge the "vector stencil" & it would maintain the image quality, while the "Photoshop's threshold stencil" would lose it. One could always draw the lines clearer in the "Photoshop" stencil, but resizing it would sacrifice the quality, reason why I prefer vector graphics.

How do you put pictures on these blogs??

_There is a gallery section here on craftster.
You could also try Photobucket.com or TinyPic.com

Make sure you include [ img ] & [ / img ] -without spaced- before & after the image URL & voila.
-There is also the 'Insert image' icon whenever you post-
