5  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance on: May 05, 2014 07:04:18 PM
This was a project dedicated for my niece who just had a birthday.
She loves Gerard Way from My Chemical Romance.
It seemed like a perfect idea to make her an amigurumi... and she loved it. Smiley

I used a basic doll design as the base:
http://www.scribd.com/doc/99920769/Basic-Crochet-Doll
I made the head smaller as it was very large to begin with.

To make the design, I researched video footage & promotional photos to get it just right.
A completely customized design, lots of color changes & yarn needlework.
I attempted to capture each step as I worked so I could post a tutorial.
If I get lots of requests, I might just upload it. Wink

My hand is in this picture as a size reference:

6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Turanga Leela from Futurama on: May 05, 2014 06:26:25 PM
This is my second Amigurumi ever. I made it for a family friend as a thank you/Birthday present.
I should have made Bender but I guess that will be next time. Wink

I got the pattern from a blog that I found:
http://blog.hookedhands.com/2011/08/free-crochet-leela-futurama-pattern.html
Like with most patterns that I find, I usually have to add something or fix it to my taste.
As you can see in the pictures, I added a nose & ears.
I also couldn't figure out how they did the hair so I found a good tutorial here, in the "HAIR" section:

7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Gooble from Yo Gabba Gabba on: May 05, 2014 05:40:40 PM
I've been crocheting since 2006 but had a long break in the middle.
After my daughter was born, I got back into it & taught my wife as well.
This is my first Amigurumi I've ever made.
My daughter is a big fan of Yo Gabba Gabba and her favorite character became Gooble after seeing him in "Love" Episode 19 of Season 1. He's the one that is looks like Muno but is white & is crying all the time.
I found the pattern here on Craftster:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=226771.0#axzz30tGnqDCS
I made his face freehand.

Stay tuned for more posts Smiley

Let me know what you think Smiley

Thanks!
