My husband thinks the sewing machine is a doorstop and even suggested that I give it away! Just because I haven't used it in several years...
I do have a knitting machine that I bought at an auction for only $50 and a Sweater Knitting Machine that cost $5 at a church sale. I haven't used either of them and just can't let go of them 'cause then I'll want to use them.
The knitting needles and crochet hooks keep multiplying so I keep giving them away.
This weekend I made a start at a new craft - needle felting. I've been interested in it for quite a while and purchased a kit with two needles and the foam base 3-4 years ago. Got lots and lots of roving a couple summers back when I bought part of someone else's stash <smile>
My first try resulted in a lovely red heart using a cookie cutter to help with the shaping. Then another thinner heart and then a star and then a half moon and finally a moose! I ordered more tools and a book from Amazon so I'll have enough to share with a friend at work.
I see Christmas presents/ornaments for my entire family.
I'm so glad I found this group. This is something I've been working on - without much success - for at least a year already! I just can't say "No" to paying only $100 for the knitting-related leftovers from a craft store going out of business OR filling up my Corolla with bags of another knitter's stash 'cause she was moving. And how can I turn down the orphan knitting needles at a lawn sale or the unloved yarn at a church sale.
However, I will get things better organized and donate some yarn to the local middle school for their knitting club. Then there are the kitty mats for the animal shelter and the hats for the senior center.
If I start writing down all the things I make and give away, I'll feel better about having that stash.
This is just what I need! Inspiration and support.
Maybe someday my draft room will look at nice as yours. Right now my craft things are crammed into boxes in the cold attic. They were starting to take over the living room, too, until I banished all but my "current" project.
