1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Art Work 2014 on: October 07, 2014 05:36:51 AM
I was curious to see how much i'd created this year so far, so i lay everything (Well not EVERYTHING but A LOT of it) out on my table.
Here's about 1/6 of all the paintings i've created this year Smiley
(There's also a post of my crafts in the Pottery/Clay category)

2  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Makes 2014 so far on: October 05, 2014 08:27:07 AM

3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Nightmare Before Christmas Fan Art on: September 16, 2014 07:35:37 AM
My friend is NBC daft so i made a couple pieces for her, that and i wanted a excuse to make something halloween-y ^_^
Jacks arms are fully pose-able and all the white sections on both pieces glow green in the dark too Cheesy

A few WIP shots

4  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Bearded-Dragon Dragon Sculpture (Including progress pics/Mini Tut) on: September 08, 2014 08:59:09 AM
It's taken around a week to finish this wee one, with lots of trial and error, i'd never made something so big before and never tackled wings.
But, i feel she's turned out the way i wanted ^_^
Entirely hand sculpted and painted, total of around 10+ hours, i lost count..

I'm considering writing a bit more of a in depth blog on how i made her when i have some free time if anyone is interested Smiley

Progress photos from beginning to near end Smiley

Very rough beginning including a photo of my wee girl that i used as a reference

A few details added and wing position pinned

First cure and extra details added

Final cure, wings in place and base coat of paint

Lots of hours of painting layers and final details

Wings fixed in place and set beside my previous sculpture (Which can be found in the forums somewhere) and my scaly baby Smiley

Hope yous enjoyed ^_^
5  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Hedgehog art doll on: August 23, 2014 12:50:57 PM
I've had the pieces lying about for this wee chap for ages, and finally had some spare cash to get the faux fur.
Finally completed ^_^

A few work in progress photos Smiley

6  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Forest troll, seedlings and Groot inspired sculpture on: August 14, 2014 04:52:33 AM
I got asked the other week by my cousin to make a little Groot (Guardians of the Galaxy) for his fiance, for their anniversary
I'd originally made some seedling creatures that made him think of the idea.
Super excited to finish this Smiley
Pot was up-cycled from a old hand cream tub as i couldn't get hold of the right sized terracotta pot Sad

*Please excuse the "Phalic" nature of the work in progress Groots...i didn't realise until after i'd made them and went to take a photo, luckily no-one will ever see them once they're in their pots!)

There's also a forest troll and some seedlings or "Potheads" as they've become known.

7  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Bird art dolls (Kingfisher, Long-tailed tit, Puffin) on: August 13, 2014 03:07:04 PM

Just realised that it's been a really long time since i uploaded any pieces to show you guys!
Here's a few (I won't pop in TOO many this time)
I have however made a video slideshow that i've put onto youtube of most of this year so fars pieces for easy viewing so i don't have to clog up the page!

Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U6S6w3gfRX4&feature=youtu.be
( I really want to start doing how to/tutorials but i'm super nervous and goofy infroont of the camera Sad )
Would anyone want to watch them if i did try?
If so what pieces/techniques would you like to see step-by-step?

10  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / A day of firsts-koi painting on: July 31, 2014 02:08:35 AM
Yesterday i tried a few things for the first time

- Painting a large-ish canvas
- Painting Koi fish and a peony flower
- Painting in a "Tattoo" style
- Using acrylics properly for the first time since high school 4/5 years ago.

Quite chuffed with how it turned out.
Took in total around 5 hours Smiley

W.I.P Shots

The blank canvas..which i managed to accidentally pop finger prints in.

1/3rd of the way through
