1  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: double wedding ring pattern on: September 20, 2006 06:01:41 AM
Maybe too late, here, but there's also this pattern from Quilter's Cache.
2  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Batting? on: August 23, 2006 05:37:28 AM
You can also buy some types of batting by the bag (they're already sized for the different bed sizes), and it's not too expensive.
But if it's a crazy quilt you might not even need a batting, depending on how heavy it is.
3  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: 'Quilted' Blanket Questions. on: August 16, 2006 04:51:25 AM
If you don't want to actually quilt it, you could just leave out the batting altogether, use a fairly heavy backing, and tie the quilt. You'd still have a bit of thread showing on the back, but if you used a matching colour it wouldn't show too much.
It wouldn't look exactly like the example, though.  Undecided

That's so cool! It reminds me of a Klimt.  Shocked

I make long strips of squares and then sew them row by row, too. Then there are less pins and stuff to worry about, and I find it easier to line up the squares that way.

7  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: a tank top that won't show skin? on: April 10, 2006 11:24:01 AM
This one's on my to-knit list. US size 6 needles, so not big, but not tiny either.
