21  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Lots of jewelry/pendants (img heavy) on: June 12, 2006 11:26:33 AM
I love making pendants! Here are just a few that I've made:

This uses mokume gane

these last two are the same pendant, just different sides:

22  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Polymer Clay Eggs on: June 12, 2006 11:22:45 AM
Hey everyone! I'm so excited we finally have a board just for polymer clay! It's about time! Anyway, here are three eggs that I covered in clay (in a ceramic dish I made  Smiley) and the one in the middle has seed beads inside so it's a little egg shaker that I use for my vocal jazz group

I hope you like them; comments are appreciated as always!

23  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Abstract-ish Green Pastel "Painting" on: April 07, 2006 05:32:32 PM
Hi! I decided to do a pastel chalk "painting" using one of my dad's photographs as inspiration (he's a photographer) and this is what I came up with!:

It's an 8 x 10 piece, and I'm really happy with the turnout. The photo I used was taken of a plant with some palm-like leaves and looked almost just like this, except I did the colors a bit differently. I'm curious to hear some feedback Smiley
24  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Chunky Wooden Bead Necklace on: April 05, 2006 03:59:56 PM
Hey everyone! Well I love those big chunky wooden bead necklaces that tie on with a ribbon, but they can be really expensive! So, being the crafter that I am, I decided to make my own! I bought two sizes of plain wooden beads (medium ones and a few bigger ones for the center) and painted them with a metallic copper acrylic paint (only needed one coat of paint!) and I bought some antique-white satin-y ribbon and just went to town! The whole necklace ended up costing me a total of $8.76, and that's still with almost the entire spool of ribbon and most of the bottle of paint left over, plus a few extra beads. So all-in-all I think I did pretty well! Let me know what you think!

and a close-up!

25  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Oodles of necklaces/pendants! (very image heavy!) on: April 05, 2006 03:53:58 PM
Hi! Here are a few of the pendants and necklaces I've made! I hope you like them and I would love some feedback!:

this one is a ceramic pendant that I colored with underglaze pencils and glazed with a clear coat:

An attempt at sort of wire wrapping:

I call this my "White Stripes pendant" and it's made out of polymer clay obviously:

The rest of these are made with polymer clay as well

This one is reversible!:

26  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Abstract Oil Pastel painting on: March 16, 2006 05:10:47 PM
Hi! I made this abstract oil pastel painting about a year ago. I was really angry one evening and I just took out my giant paper pad and my oil pastels and went at it. When I look at it now, it doesn't seem too much like a piece made out of anger, but I can still see the emotion in it in certain ways (especially now that it's hanging above my desk with my other artwork!) Well, I hope you like it and comments would be very much appreciated!

the colors are a little bit off but not too bad. And sorry it's a tad blurry. I'm no photographer (that would be my dad's hobby... Wink)
27  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / uber-cute patchwork purse! on: March 12, 2006 02:36:18 PM
Hi! I made this patchwork purse about 2 weeks ago for my friend's birthday. I really like how it turned out and it was difficult to give it up! Well, I hope you like it, and comments are appreciated!

I used dark blue courdoroy remnants, some turquoise cotton with white swirls, and some scraps of gorgeous deep-red suede with leaf embroidery (leftovers from my amazing Madrigal costume I had made for me--maybe I'll post that later)

Here's some close-ups, but sorry-the colors are pretty horribly off. The first picture's colors are pretty accurate though.

And the inside:

Hope you like it!
28  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Indian fabric purse (my first real bag!--img heavy) on: March 11, 2006 11:53:05 PM
Ok, I'm uber-proud of myself! I made my first *real* purse. I've made others, but not really any with interfacing and a real pattern (which I made up myself!) and pockets, and actually taking a really long time, so go me! Anyway, I found this amazing fabric for 50% off (my kind of price!) and I just had to buy it. So here's what I made out of it, I hope you like it and comments would be very much appreciated!:
