1  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Pillow Beds on: January 18, 2014 11:46:01 AM
This is my first post, but I've been lurking for a while.  I joined last month because I wanted to show off the pillow beds I made for my nieces and nephews for Christmas and couldn't post them on facebook because they might see them.  Of course, it's now January and I'm just getting around to uploading the photos now.

I first saw these on Pinterest and pinned it, thinking I was pinning instructions.  When I was ready to get started, I clicked through and discovered it was actually a website in the UK selling them for around 100 pounds.  I was sure I was sure I could do better than that!  I did find some tutorials online.  I used one of them as a guide to make a prototype for my 4 year old niece who loves everything I make.  Then I made changes and made the other six.
The prototype is the first, shorter one.  I used fabrics in my niece's favorite colors.  I don't love the look, personally, but she did, and that's what counts!

The rest are for the older kids, ranging in ages from 10-16.  All of the boys love soccer, so I bought up all of the different soccer prints I could find.

This shot shows the backside.  If you look closely, you can see the panel for inserting or removing the pillows.
