1  Re: Fall/Harvest Sweat shoppe swap Sign ups now to Sept 18th Send Oct 4th in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by poppysmum on: September 17, 2006 10:16:39 PM
Hi gals! Sorry to butt in, I want to see what you think of these.

Leaf press closed & ready to pop in your bag:

And open, ready to stuff full of leaves between japanese junk mail & newspaper for blotting:

I was thinking of doing 5 traditional looking covers & 5 hand coloured Manga covers. There may even be a small surprise thrown in too. What do you all think?

Oh wait! Just one more... Here is the fabulous caplet that Spirals made & sent to lucky me!

Here's the front.

And the back, I love the hood sooooo much!

And the great shaping on the neck. I love it so much Spirals, I wish everyone could feel how soft it is. Thank-you!  Kiss

I'm so glad you like everything minnouette! Once I started I just couldn't stop so that's why you got the box. Also I wanted to make up for the fact that I couldn't get you more 'washi' type paper as I have killer 'all day sickness' & I'm not out & about much right now.

Anyhoo, on to the good stuff! This is what minnouette sent me...

and...

and...

Now as my photography skills aren't that great I'll fill ya in on what she sent.

1. Most stuff is in French, Dutch & German with a little English.
2. Fabulous old postcards from Holland, some written on too!
3. Postcards from Toronto, articles from Germany, geophysical maps in French!
4. Copies of illustrations from "Garbage Delight" & "Alligator Pie".
5.Lots of what looks like hand printed bibs & bobs which I LOVE & a 'zine from Toronto as well!
6. And last but not least the print of the Griffin that minnouette made her self! I love it most of all I think.

My mind is just swimming with new projects to do with all my new stash!
Thanks soooooo much minouette, you're my new best friend! Grin

Oh yeah, did you know that minnouette went to Holland just to get me the dutch stuff I so crave... Wink

4  Re: Poppy theme! in Craftalongs by poppysmum on: November 28, 2005 10:59:47 PM
For Poppy's naming day I made poppy after poppy with tissue paper & pipe cleaners. The whole party had the poppy colours as it's theme. It's alittle hard to see, I'll try & russle up some better pics if you are interested...

Oh, I'm so EXCITED! I received my package from crafty_dame & andi_sunrider last night. I requested some unusual buttons & I had a baby food jar all ready to house my new babies. HUH! Checkout what I got from crafty_dame... Shocked

So many cool shapes! I'm squealing & my husband thinks I'm a loon!

And that's not all... Grin

So many colours & shapes! So many exclamation marks! Cheesy (& yep that's a gummy bear button on the left.) Needless to say the baby food jar has been turfed aside & a Twining Tea tin has been employed for the job.
And just when you thought this duck was the luckiest I got this too...

This fabulous apron was a complete surprise! Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you crafty_dame! Kiss

Up next, the andi_sunrider portion of our program... I asked for a retro pillowcase &/or sheet for my daughter Poppy. I was expecting one pillowcase. I got this...
http://www.craftster.org/pictures/data/500/33076PB230060_WinCE_.JPG
from l>r= one fabulous single flat sheet, one amazing fitted sheet, & 3 (count 'em, 3) pillow cases. When I pulled them out of the box I said "Look Poppy, WOW!" & she promptly replied with "WWWOOOWWW". It's her first real word aside from Mama, Dada & Atta (the cat). You did that andi_sunrider. Her first word!
Anyhoo this post is way to long so I'll end with this and say a great BIG thank-you...

(oh, there was candy too, but we ate that. Yummy. Kiss)

7  Dada's Birfday in Stenciling: Completed Projects by poppysmum on: November 12, 2005 06:06:02 AM
Poppy & I stencilled this shirt for her Dada for his birthday this year. He is soooo hard to buy for so usually he chooses something he wants & then we craft up a little surprise...

He really liked it although he has such a love affair with coffee that we couldn't go wrong really.

We used a piece of card & cut out the stencil, then we used acrylic paint mixed with fabric medium. It bled a little but it's still good enough to wear. Grin

8  Holding Hands-I fixed the pic! in Needlework: Completed Projects by poppysmum on: November 11, 2005 02:02:36 AM
I embroidered these pillow cases for friends who were getting married. It was an easy project that I'm surprised to say was really, really appreciated by the couple. See how when you put the pillows side by side they look like they are holding hands? I even guessed their sides of the bed correctly!
