41  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Discussion and Questions / sci-fi/fantasy on: July 12, 2005 08:34:33 AM
Hi everyone, I was hoping that some of you may be able to help me in my quest.

Now my boyfriend really enjoys reading fantasy/sci-fi books eg The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan, to name but one of his many series he has in his collection.  He also enjoys playing fantasy style games eg World of Warcraft, Arcanum, Age of Mythology.

Now I was hoping to be able to do some stenciling to make a couple of cushions and maybe even a couple of t-shirts for his christmas but I want to get started asap so as I can get it out of the way before I head back for my final year of uni.

The only problem that I am having right now is trying to locate some sort of fantasy/sci-fi style stencils and/or colouring pages to take the pattern from for the stencils.  Preferably I would like them to tie in with his books and games but I think I have come to the stage now where anything fantasy/sci-fi related will do.  So I was hoping that some of you will maybe be able to help me out here.

Much appreciated  Smiley

43  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / take care present on: June 18, 2005 07:01:20 AM
My boyfriend is going away to work in Singapore for 3 months and I was wanting to make him something(s) to tell him to take care and to remember me by while he is away.  Though I am lost for ideas as to what exactly I should make/buy for him!

Any ideas please?  Anything would be much appreciated!
44  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Baby Showers And Gifts For New Babies / Baby gift help and ideas please on: June 16, 2005 09:49:50 AM
Hey folks, first post so I thought I would say a big hi to everyone   Cheesy

Anyway, I have a friend who is expecting a baby in about 3 months and a bit and I was wanting to give her something different instead of something bought in the shop, as I'm sure the usual thing will happen where she is over run with baby grows (or onesies?!  i think thats what they are called in some other countries)!!  So I was thinking about making her something, which will also mean that it will be a little bit more personal as well.

I was considering doing a sampler but now I have moved onto the idea of a blanket.  So does anyone have any ideas or patterns for a blanket?

I was thinking maybe making it in the style of a sampler and incorporating some cross stitched fairytale characters or appliqued characters (never done applique before so am quite keen to give it a try!)

Or trying my hand at a little bit of quilting.

So any further ideas or help would be much appreciated!

Also does anyone have examples of a suitable alphabet, perhaps with little motifs incorporated.

Thanks very much folks
