1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Fernel - the Forest Fairy on: July 14, 2008 11:18:53 AM
I am pleased to introduce to you Fernel, a forest fairy.

She has a fully needle sculpted face including glass eyes and eyelids. She is jointed at the hips and knees allowing her to sit (or stand if in a doll stand).

She is holding a walking stick in one hand with a rather large flower on the end and in the other hand she is holding a very delicate flower. She also has delicate forest green wings with seed bead detail.

I had fun experimenting with dye as well for her "hair" and the foliage on the flower walking stick.

I shall be teaching here at a class in Aberdeen, Scotland, over 2 Saturday's in August.

Some closer shots:

Sorry the pictures aren't great - I just couldn't get good lighting and I needed to get the doll out of the door that afternoon.

Also sorry if she is in the wrong category - wasn't sure where I should post this.

3  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Bright baby quilt on: March 30, 2008 01:49:27 PM
Here is a baby quilt top that I whipped up today.  Its a very very simple one, which was a nice change for me.

Do you think the colours are unisex?  There is someone at work that is having a baby and they don't want to know if its a boy or a girl, and I was wondering if this quilt is unisex enough or should I whip up another one?

Comments and criticisms appreciated.

5  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Scrapbooking: Completed Projects / My first two 12"x12" layouts on: June 20, 2007 09:01:21 PM
I have been along to a couple of scrapbooking classes recently and these are the first two 12"x12" LO's I have come up with on my own Cheesy

I am very pleased with them Cheesy. The first one I made was the "Belles of the Ball" page. It features me and 3 class mates at my grad ball. I still have to add the rest of the title in handwritting and I also have to add a bit of journaling hence why there is a blank rectangle on the layout at the moment.

The second one I made was the "Monkeying Around!" one. It features photos taken while in Thailand. I thought the pics of myself and my boyfriend were kinda silly and because we also took pictures of the monkeys that we saw, I thought it would make a good theme, hence the title of the page "Monkeying Around!" was coined. I may add some outlines around the text (to make it stand out a little more) and add the date and place to the layout to finish it off but I'm not 100% sure yet.

C&C welcomed Cheesy
6  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Amigurumi Flapper Girl on: June 20, 2007 08:09:17 PM
Well me and Dulcinea did a personal swap and for the package I sent her we decided it was going to be an ami.  She pretty much left it up to me to decide what kind of ami it would be, making only one request, that if it was human like, and female, that it have a chest.  So with the artistic freedom I came up with this flapper doll.

I tried to focus a fair bit on detail, including eyelashes, little pink pants under her dress, the necklace and a belly button Smiley

I used no pattern for the doll, I completely winged it.

Hope you all like it and C&C are welcomed Smiley
7  Calls for Swap Angels / Swap Angel Archive / 1 Angel FOUND - wishlist january swap on: May 27, 2007 08:50:11 PM
Hi everyone

I am looking for an angel for Luckie_Strike for the wishlist January.  She is living in TX.

Her wishlist is:

um, I guess an updated wishlist would be:

--military styled messenger bag, in olive drab or gray
--three sets of hairclips, one with bumblebees, one with lamb faces, and the other with a cougar/mountain lion face (this might be asking a lot  Wink)
--a sock monster (whatever style)
--little felt stuffie, especially a food one
--headbands in brick red, black, and white
--a surprise!

I'm really in baseball mode right now, so that explains my headwear assortment (I go to a lot of games)

Anyone who would like to help out please PM me.

thanks for taking the time to read this and considering to be an angel for Luckie_Strike

9  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Robot amigurumi on: April 03, 2007 11:48:41 AM
I did a personal swap with xladyluckx for some painted records (which I am eagerly awaiting the postman to deliver!).  We agreed that I would make her an amigurumi in return and upon asking if there was anything in particular that she would like she pointed me in the direction of the pattern in Craft magazine that she particularly adored.  So this without further ado, here is the little robot guy that I crocheted up from the pattern:

10  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / Alien Amigurumi on: March 28, 2007 11:58:06 AM
In the wishlist Feb swap I claimed Silver Ilix for an amigurumi pal and I gave her themes to pick from and one of the themes she picked was aliens.  So this is the alien amigurumi pal I came up with for her.

By the way that teddy in the background is a big one, so its not a case of the alien being tiny, lol.

I used no patter for him.  I kind of just winged it and that was what I came up with.  I quite like the result Smiley

I particularly like the belly button and the thumbs that I added Cheesy
