thanks for the pointers kategirl - ever since i saw comfit's cereal box books, i've been keeping my cardboard! i just finished these "dorm technology" valentines:
all valentines started as cereal box cardboard, the patterned side covered in manila paper.
- the "heart on the sleeve" is layers of covered cardboard hot glued together and embellished with felt. the hot glue makes the cards a lot more dimensional than stick glue.
- goldfish made similarly with fins standing up off the body and glitter gel pen embellishment. red fishbowl gravel was made by cutting up coffee stirring straws from the dining hall.
- cupcake embellished with gel pen, felt heart, and rainbow sprinkles . says, "Hey there, cupcake." (based off overpriced notecards i saw at Anthropologie
i'm so happy with my mini glue gun that i bought at walmart for something like 3 dollars. i felt naked without one!
