1  Easy and Yummy Apple Sandwiches in Recipes and Cooking Tips by Duckgrrl on: January 13, 2010 05:43:36 PM
Okay, so I can't take credit for this recipe, I stole the idea from a local coffee shop. It is easy and tasty, and only requires a few ingredients.

Grilled Apple Jack Sandwiches

You will need:

Your favorite kind of pita or ciabatta bread (I recently found these small "sandwich thins" that work perfectly)
Monterrey Jack cheese
1 Golden Delicious apple
1 Yellow onion
A "George Foreman" grill, toaster oven, or conventional oven

First, slice everything up...the amount of everything depends on your taste. I usually put about 5 slices of apple, 4 small onion slivers, and 4 slices of cheese.

Then, layer the cheese, apples, onion, and another layer of cheese.

Put the lid on the sandwich and pop it in the "George' for about 6 minutes (the cheese will ooze out, but it will be wonderfully golden and crusty).

Let the sandwiches cool for a few minutes or you will scorch your mouth!

This is me and my hubby's favorite quick and healthy meal...I hope you enjoy! Please let me know if you have any questions about the recipe.

I really have no idea how to do this picture posting stuff....but the photo is in the gallery under Wedding Flip Flops......these were really simple and fun to make. My best friend is getting married and wanted to wear something comfortable under her big poofy dress. Let me know what you think of them!
