1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Pretty Patterned Pieces on: June 30, 2009 10:54:25 AM
Here are two peices I made recently. They are both made 100% from recycled materials and clothing.

This one was created from a black tank top and 2 large plaid flannel button ups. The flutter sleeves are the old collars of the button ups!

This one is made from a zebra print t-shirt that was a perfect fit but was just REALLY short.. (me and my sister actually found it in a dumpster on our one and only dumpster diving expedition like 3 years ago) I cut out a sweetheart neckine and sewed it to some polkadotted material and then banded the sleeves, neck and waist with some sparkly black material that was from the bottom of a skirt! and the black buttons are from the black tank top from the previous project

4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Panda Panda Panda Panda Pan Beep Beep on: May 01, 2009 08:48:28 AM
Ive made some more shirts and hoodies!

This one is one of the first patterns I learned to make myself, I havent made anything with those kind of pockets in a while.

I had plans for it too turn out a certain way but I made a mistake and had to change half way through, I love the results though. It has a bubble shirt and the top is self lined.. I usually opt for band hems and  im not sure why..

This one is an experiment of sorts, i just started cuting and sewing with no real plans, its pretty simple. fabric covered buttons, yay!

my second time making cap sleeves.. I had never thought about making cap sleeves until my crafty roommate suggested it!

this one should go into a the reconstruction section i guess, but ill keep it all together in the interest of not posting tooo many new topics! I found this awesome panda shirt at a thrift store with the same image on the back and front. I cut the front out in a square for the front of the hoodie and cut the back out for the hood. The hoodie doesnt have side seams but instead i made some wrap around pockets.. which are hard to see in the picture.

Ive just finished my first year in a Art and Design University, its been fun but ive had NO time to sew!
So in the last few weeks ive gone crazy and made a lot!!!

I made three shirts using a similiar pattern but using different colors. I love fabric covered buttons, i have to control myself so that i dont put them on EVERYTHING i make.

This is my first piece that ive made thats suppose to be for guys! (there is a pocket in the left side)

This is a cowl neck dress.. with ruffles! ruffles are so fun

I did some experimenting with this one.. making it all fancy with the collar

I scored some cute sailboat and bow fabric from the thrift store!!!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / I havent posted in almost a year! NEW STUFF! on: July 14, 2008 05:49:50 PM
wow, i havent posted in almost a year.. ahh!!

here are some pieces ive made recently:

the orange is from a really large tshirt that had the logo of a local grocery store on it.. used everything BUT the logo.. and added the 80s fabric

this one is made from the crazy 80s fabric, but also from a green t-shirt, i had to flip it inside out and use the outside for the inside.. because it was covered in logos.. ewww
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / !!! da results of old clothes turned new !!! on: August 06, 2007 05:24:23 PM
here are a few tops i made from reconstructing old t-shirts i found at thrift stores.

This one is made from two t-shirts morphed together. It has a sweetheart neckline, three fabric covered buttons and a red band that goes under the bust.

This one is made from new pink material, but the pink material with stars is from an old button up t-shirt.

These tube tops were originally really huge t-shirts, the top band had elastic in the back to make sure it stays up!

thanks for looking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
