181  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / ~*Winter Rapunzel Scarf*~ on: November 03, 2008 01:09:00 PM
Here is my first attempt at a Rapunzel scarf.  I made it for the Friends of Craftster Raffle which is themed winter wonderland.  It was tons of fun to make, a great stash buster, and very satisfying.

183  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Harry Potter Holiday Swap on: October 18, 2008 02:14:39 PM
Ah yes, another Harry Potter swap rears its head.

I'm addicted to swaps, especially Harry Potter swaps, and I would love to celebrate the holiday with some HP goodies.

We could exchange the traditional HP goodness...scarves, a Weasley clock, radish earrings, and such, or one could take it a step further and whip up a HP/house stocking, ornaments, homemade yummy treats, maybe something for the Yule Ball...well your imagination can wander...

I'm thinking the standard 1 large, 1 medium, and 1 small.

186  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Craftster Itself / New Flash/Videos in Upper Right Causing Problems? Post here! on: September 19, 2008 02:25:52 PM
Is anyone else having this problem?

There are a couple of videos (I guess they are ads?) that are freezing the page and taking a LONG time to load.  I have a pretty up-to-date computer, and I have a DSL internet connection so I can not imagine what it is like with a slower computer or connection.

The two videos that seem to be causing the most troubles for me is:
"How to type Marilyn Monroe with Word" by Martin
and
"How to Make a Realistic Knife Throw Effect Video"

They are located in the upper right corner of the page.

 Undecided  Cry  Sad

Note: Some videos load fine, and I seem to find these a lot on the bookmarks page.

Update! Smiley

5min.com has identified and solved the hiccup with the videos/buffering.  No one should be experiencing issues at this time -- yay!

Please reply here if you do experience further issues.

Thanks again for all of your help! Smiley
187  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ~Simple Fall Remembrance Necklace~ on: September 16, 2008 07:35:41 AM
I made this for my swap partner in the Is It Fall Yet? swap.
This necklace is so you can carry a remembrance of fall always.

It is a simple metal leaf (I believe I bought it at Joann's and that it is a Blue Moon product) and a simple hemp cording.

I like the simple quality of it. Grin

188  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / ~Beaded Fall Tree~ links to inspiration included on: September 16, 2008 07:28:55 AM
I made this beaded fall tree for my swap partner in the Is It Fall Yet? swap.
I loved how it turned out, and I really need to make myself one (perhaps one day).

so you can see the leaf beads and the dimension  Grin

I just love making these beaded tree.
They are much simpler than the appear to be.
So if you are dying for one, give it a whirl.

189  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ~Falling Leaves Stitch Markers~ on: September 16, 2008 07:20:49 AM
I made these for my swap partner in the Is It Fall Yet? swap.

I used leverback earring findings for the markers.  They work great because they stay on well and are light enough so not to pull at your work.

Thanks for looking!  Wishing you a fabulous fall!  Grin
190  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / ~Pumpkin Earrings & Necklace~ on: September 14, 2008 03:06:48 PM
I made these for the Back to Hogwarts swap.  They are to remember all those fabulous fall feasts, Hagrids giant pumpkin patch, pumpkin pasties, and of course who could forget pumpkin juice (mmm).

They would also be great for any fall function.

I found these tiny pumpkins at Hobby Lobby.  They were once mini ornaments.  After trimming teh strings, I heated a long head pin so it would go cleanly through the glaze and styrofoam.  Then after trimming excess from the pin, I looped and attached jump rings.  So you see, it was rather simple for such a fabulous fall set.
