11  ~*SPEW Sunday*~ in Craftalongs by pinkleo on: March 16, 2014 08:12:41 PM
SPEW: Bundles of Joy (supports the babies in the Pine Ridge Hospital OB Ward. Poverty on the Reservation is extensive and many of the moms do not have any clothing or other items waiting at home for their new babies)
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Montrose Magpies Shiny Baby Hat...OOOoooo Shiny Grin
Free Pattern Link: Simple Baby Beanie Pattern by Jennifer M. Bennett
Brief Description: It's SPEW Sunday!  I decided to celebrate by working up a baby hat for Bundles of Joy.  It's a gray day here, so I decided I needed a bit of shiny yarn to brighten the day.

SPEW: Bundles of Joy
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Chudley Cannons Cables Baby Hat...crossed my fingers & hoped for the best
Free Pattern Link: Diamond Trellis Baby Hat by Kendrea Beers (pdf file)
Brief Description: It's SPEW Sunday Part 2!  Another baby hat for Bundles of Joy.  I have included the pattern link, but be warned that this pattern took a lot of modifications for it to work for me.  It was my first go with this pattern, and it is possible that this pattern was not lefty crocheter friendly.  By crossing my fingers & hoping for the best, I made it through with a baby hat...YAY! 13  Mother Bear Project -Arthur- in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by pinkleo on: March 16, 2014 11:53:55 AM
This is my first Mother Bear.  The Mother Bear Project is dedicated to providing comfort and hope to children affected by HIV/AIDS in emerging nations, by giving them a gift of love in the form of a hand-knit or crocheted bear.  I plan to create many more.  All bears are made from the same knit or crochet patterns; these are available on the site.  Do note that these are pay patterns, with funds going towards the charity.

Hooks Used: B for sock weight, G for worsted

They both were claimed & named by my daughter. Grin

17  Giant Owl Basket in Crochet: Completed Projects by pinkleo on: March 15, 2014 05:31:57 PM
I created this baskets for the Back to Hogwarts R4 Swap.  He stands 15 tall and is 12 wide.  And can hold a ton of stuff!   I will say if you whip up this pattern, you will get a workout after holding 2 strands of super bulky while crocheting this.

Pattern Used: Owl Basket by Deja Jetmir (this is a pay pattern...not mine)
Hook Used: 10mm
Yarn Used: Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick & Quick, Colorway Wheat
Future Mod: Fab Pattern, but in future I'll just flip 1st eye because second one turned out odd.

~*In these pics, he is holding 2 blankies*~

Thanks for peeking! Grin

19  Random Granny Ghan in Crochet: Completed Projects by pinkleo on: March 14, 2014 06:13:37 PM
I have a massive stash of yarn, especially oddballs & leftovers skeins from previous projects.  Every so often, usually when I'm in between projects or need a break from a project, I grab a few of these stashed yarns and whip up granny squares.  No rhyme or reason to my color schemes or patterns, just whatever I grab and feel like doing.  I have finally gathered up these squares and made them into a proper ghan.  I let my kiddos figure out where each square should go.  It measures 66"x49" and is quite cozy. Haven't really decided it's home...but I'll probably be keeping this one.

Yarn Used: Red Heart Super Saver, Red Heart Soft, Bernat Denim-style, Caron Simply Soft, Caron Paints, Vanna, Lion Brand Jiffy, and lots of mystery oddballs
Hook Used: I Hook
Pattern Used: Classic Granny Square
Square Size: 7" (prior to round of black sc)
Joined Method: Single Crochet
Edging: working around, continuing the granny pattern of side & then sc around
Final Afghan Size: 66"x49"

little wonky here because cats kept photobombing & wrinkling up the ghan...seriously, this is one of the only pics without a kitty invasion

~*closeup so perhaps you can see edging*~
