1  Lip Gloss is Forever (along with some kissing advice from the Frog Princess) in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Elizabeth Ingrid on: June 16, 2006 04:43:19 PM
Pucker up princess!  Here's a tried & true kissing gloss recipe guaranteed to transform that very special frog into a handsome prince.

Ingredients:

2 tablespoons petroleum jelly
1 teaspoon honey
1-2 drops flavored extract (vanilla or almond work perfectly)
sprinkle of ultra-fine, iridescent glitter
small cosmetic jar
stir or cotton swab

Mix ingredients in a small jar.  Stir until well blended.  Apply gloss to your lips and kiss the most desirable frog in sight.

*  If you wish to add color to your gloss, slice off a tiny sliver of lipstick and mix that in as well!

10 Steps to Using Your Kissing Gloss

1.  Glance coyly around the room, pretending you do not wish to be kissed.

2.  Scope out the frog of your dreams.

3.  Apply kissing gloss.

4.  Glide over to your target.

5.  Gaze dreamily into his eyes.

6.  For extra charm, add a quick hair flip.  This should do the trick.

7.  Close your eyes and pucker up.

8.  Think lovely thoughts and give him a kiss to match.

9.  Enjoy.  The first kiss is always the sweetest.

10.  When you open your eyes, a handsome prince will stand before you.

Note:  If a handsome prince is not standing before you, give him a couple of years.  Often it takes time for frogs to grow out of their tadpole-ish ways.

2  Sparkle Pad in AnAn Fashion Mag (Japan) & on HGTV's Small Space, Big Style! in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by Elizabeth Ingrid on: June 06, 2006 04:46:03 PM
Hi!

Here are pics from my recent Small Space, Big Style segment.

http://www.hgtv.com/hgtv/dc_design_small_space/article/0,1793,HGTV_3382_4394068,00.html

Highlights included a tour of my crafty pad, a Wonder Woman style, spinning outfit change and a Rapunzel wig crafting session!  If you have HGTV on demand, you can request the episode (#208 entitled Undersized Utopias).

The photos from the feature in AnAn magazine in Japan show just how pink and green the apartment really is.  Since I don't have a translation yet, you get to make up your own captions!

Keep on sparkling!

3  Bedtime for Fairies! in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Elizabeth Ingrid on: April 06, 2006 09:27:34 PM
Fairies just love making sparkly crafts at slumber parties!  Or in this case, being the sparkly craft...

Bedtime for Fairies is actually a project from my book Princess Crafts.  The "how to" section got chopped however in order to make room for the dress-up crafts.  That made me very sad as I was quite attached to the little gals.  The supplies are really easy to find.

Fairy Dolls:  They have painted wooden pegs for bodies, butterfly wings or craft leaves for fairy wings, lace or eyelet trim for skirts and cut felt (the cheap stuff) for wigs.  Oh, and the eyes are little metallic confetti hearts.

Canopy Bed:  The bed is made from a plastic soap box (the kind for traveling) with pink straws glued in place to hold up the canopy.  For decoration, it's trimmed with craft lace and the comforter and pillow are just fabric shapes filled with stuffing (although cotton balls work too.)

Table:  This is a pink milk lid glued to a toothpaste cap.  An aqua bead is acting as a vase for the rose.

Sofa:  The sofa consists of an old, cleaned-out, eye shadow compact that I glued in place to stay open.  It's lined in felt and resting on a film container cap.  The pillows are simply cut plush and felt (with 2 sequin stars for extra zip.)

Rug:  The easiest of all...just pink plush trimmed in an oval shape!

Thanks for checking out my fairy dolls.  Keep on sparklin'!
