2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / belated intro on: December 14, 2013 06:08:32 PM
Hello Smiley

I am a blissfully marrried (26 yrs) mother of 3 grown(ing) sons ages 23, 20 and 16.  I've been sewing since I was an elementary school girl.  Recently I decided the whole world needed to learn to sew and opened a modest sewing school in a rural area in western Pennsylvania.  I have been selling aprons and various other sewn items in local artisan shops and branched out to craft fairs last spring to promote my sewing school.

I"m hoping to get some insight on what has worked for others to be able to bring in a small income to supplement the oldest sons wedding coming up next summer and my sons through the remainder of their college years. After that is in our past, the fun of sewing will continue until hubby retires Smiley
3  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / Table coverings, how to make and adjust to the differernt sizes of tables on: December 09, 2013 05:50:19 AM
I'd like to sew up some nice table coverings, but am I have a few questions....
1.  Do you or have you sewn the skirt to the top? or is yours two separate pieces?
2.  Do you have different table coverings for different sizes of tables offered at various shows or is there some way to adjust the covering to the various sizes of tables?

I"d like to put a tone on tone border on the bottom of the skirt .  I think it would look nice but not distract from the products (Tshirt quilts, memory bears, upcycled clothing .. )

Thoughts and guidance would be greatly appreciated!  Thanks!
