this might be a dumb question, but could that bag be made with red (p)leather? i mean, is pleather or leather hard to work with? it seems like it would be, but i've never sewed with it before, let alone sewed much at all.

im DEFINITELY interested in this. but im gonna have to jump on the "i need to update my myspace" bandwagon!

okay so my mom is pretty much in love with home depot, and we go there a couple times a week and i've had my eye on some chain there for a long time, but for some reason i never bought any. well yesterday i finally bought some of the chain (at only .44 CENTS PER FOOT) and decided to make me some necklaces.

so i bought about six feet for two necklaces because i like my necklaces real long. the chain was already painted white, but i wanted a red strand so i bought some red spray paint.

this project only took about an hour (it would have taken less if it didn't take so long for spray paint to completely dry) and i'm very happy with the result. i think i remember seeing some necklaces like these in urban outfitters a long time ago, where they sold for around twenty dollars. including the  little clasp mine cost less than two dollars.

after traveling to three home depots i finally found this pink carpet padding in stock, and it was only about 4 bucks. so i grabbed it and purchased some washers too for a grand total of 6 dollars and some change.

so basically i cut the pad into a square, and used a cut-up dishwashing sponge to stamp on black acryillic paint. and then i painted half of my washers black to differentiate the two sides.
