2  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Finishing a painted product?? on: September 11, 2015 09:55:53 AM
Hi guys, not sure if this goes here, but here goes...
I recently painted an end table, however I have searched high and low on google as to what product to use to finish the top.  I recently used a varnish but it stripped most of the top later of paint off :S
I really want to start using my table but am worrying about ruining it Sad
Thanks for your help.

I came across the twisted knot square a while a go, and thought I'd give it a go.  Anyway I loved it! Would probably look better, it the fabric wasn't as busy, but I still like the effect.

Regardless I LOVE this blanket, it was hard to give away, but I'm happy to see it go to happy customer Smiley

I also made my own labels for this blanket (very proud, haha)

When I moved into my flat, I treated myself to some lovely new furniture, all from Ikea Wink (Great place btw!) and became completely paranoid about get a variety of colourful stains on my lovely new white table (after all I am a bit on the clumsy side!)

So found a cute little tutorial on line (http://ayumills.blogspot.co.uk/2010/05/quilted-placemats-tutorial.html and grabbed my quilting gear and got to work.

And here's the result:

And this is how I store them under the table

This look pretty simple to make, but I didn't realise how time consuming they would be.  I took me forever and a day to to sow the 'straight' lines down the white section!

Thanks for looking Smiley
