*whoops, hollers, and cheers!*
22  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Project Runway 3 (see first post) on: July 28, 2006 06:31:22 PM
I think Angela is going to be our Wendy Pepper/Santino of the season.  Either her or Vincent.  Which means it isn't likely that either of them will go anytime soon.

Can I make a call?

Michael.  Michael is going to take this competition home in his back pocket.

I miss Malan already, though.  He had personality, and I REALLY liked how he took the fall for that dress.

Kayne, Keith, Laura, Robert...they're all going to back themselves into a dark, scary corner with all their perfect construction and what-not.  The first "deconstructed" challenge they have, they're going to fail at.

And Laura definitely needs to stop wearing low-cut shirts.  *shudder*

PS: I'll admit it flat-out.  I LOVE KEITH.  I LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM, LOVE HIM!  See, Santino said what was on his mind in a mean way.  Keith says what's on his mind in whatever the hell way he wants to.  He's such a free spirit!  I'm jealous... Undecided

I want this to happen!  I'd organize it myself, but...I'm scared of organizing.

Pleeeeeeeeease do this, somebody!  It's Final Fantasy!  We need it!  It's like crack!
24  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Texas Swap Gallery! on: June 06, 2006 11:06:56 PM
I got my AWESOME swap package from angelofmusic!!!  I don't have pics yet (if you've got 'em, post 'em if you want!) but she made me three really yummy-smelling soaps, 4 Texas notecards, 4 beaded stitch markers with Texas-themed charms, 2 CRAZY awesome crocheted dishcloths, jalapeno candy, "Armadillo Droppings," which are these caramel-y peanut-y things, a Texas keychain, pen, and map, Texas Mints, "Cow Seeds," and a Fort Hood magnet!

It was a  HUGE package, and she managed to fit it all into a Blue Bell Peaches and Homemade Vanilla Ice Cream carton, which is a GREAT idea!

Thank you so much, angelofmusic!  I love everything!

And eh...through a horrible mistake of my own, and due to my apparently selective eyesight, I thought the send-outs were the 7th instead of the 2nd.  I don't know why, since it very plainly states June 2nd on the thread title, and I feel really terrible, but I'm definitely sending out tomorrow, cortag04!  I'll get everyone DC #'s then.

I am sad that no one has mentioned Gargoyles. I loved that series. I already bought season one on DVD.

They released GARGOYLES on DVD?Huh?

I'm buying it tomorrow.  I can't believe I forgot about that one!  One of the best shows I've ever seen.  Too bad it was so short-lived.

That cuff is GORGEOUS!  And the beads on that necklace are also beautiful.

And you're welcome, irid3sc3nt!  I still haven't found those issues, but I haven't stopped looking!  (We have a lot of crap in our garage...) Undecided
27  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Ongoing wish swap 10! on: May 26, 2006 05:37:27 PM
I'll get The Sick Rose for Kanzashi hairpins.  Cheesy  This is my first claim.

Okay, heres my wish list.

-A small stuffed animal for my 2-month-old son.  My daughter has a tiny yellow bunny named Mellow Yellow that belonged to my husband when he was a baby, but we dont have anything like that for my son.  Id love for it to be something lovingly hand-made, preferably with no hard, removable parts (eyes, etc.) and with a name and backstory.  J

-A circle skirt made of pretty, lightweight fabric for contra dancing.  If you know what contra dancing is, you know what Im talking about.  If you dont, I need something that will look and feel pretty when I twirl around really fast.

-Various tiny cute things for my office desk, like:
  -Amigurumi of any kind
  -A small, embellished picture frame
  -Anything frogs or dragons

-Professional looking hair accessories for my new long hair.

-A t-shirt with Klingon on it.  I dont care what it says.  I just think Klingon looks really cool.

-Okay, Ill jump on the bandwagon tooa swap journal would be pretty awesome.

-Any yarn thats nicer than acrylic.  I cant ever afford anything but acrylic.  Any color, any texture.

-Brightly-colored felt, any size, scraps included.

-A Nintendo messenger bag like this one: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=36003.0

-Poker coasters like these: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=7862.0

-Glasses chain

-Old game pieces from incomplete board games (dominos, dice, Monopoly or Clue miniatures, Scrabble tiles, etc.)

-A DIY kit for learning to cable knit Ive got all the basics of knitting down, but I have no idea where to begin with cabling.

-A craft book, either pre-published or created by you, with whatever you like in it.  Its my goal to learn how to do everything.

-A mix CD of whatever youre listening to this week (Ill leave this one open, cause I always like getting new music).

-A scarf with the Capcom code on it.

-A Bob-omb plushie like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=42924.0  or any Mario-related plushie, especially mushrooms, Yoshi eggs, and goombas.

-Fun, toddler-safe games and toys that help stimulate the mind and dont make annoying electronic beeping noises.

-A cool pincushion.

-This is a little specific, but I would really like a big idea book.  Often, my husband and I will converse with each other or with friends about big ideas like the existence of God, and stuff in the universe in general.  Every once in a while, we hit on something huge, and if we even think to write it down, its usually on a napkin or something which promptly gets lost.  If we had a big idea book that was handy and was only for that specific purpose, that would be awesome.  Heres the specific part:  Id like for the pages to be lined on one side, and blank on the other, to allow for both writing and drawing these big ideas.

Okay, Im pretty sure thats everything.  So far.  Cheesy

About me:  I live in Dallas, TX, Im a 23-year-old married mother of two, and Im so nerdy, its sick.  My husband and I get all weepy together over episodes of Star Trek (in fact, we both cried over this episode last night where they thought that Worf had died during this really experimental surgery, but of course he ended up being okay because Klingons have all these unnecessary redundancies of major organs in case one of them fails, but it was SO SAD for a minute).  Anyway, I love anything old-school Nintendo, anime of all kinds, cosplay, Diablo II, Magic: The Gathering, frogs, dragons, snakes, Final Fantasy, Marvel and Vertigo comics, anything Texas-and all kinds of music and food Ill try anything once.  My favorite colors are cool shades of blue, green, and grey (especially when theyre all mixed together into one great ocean-color), and black.
28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Unique Name Swap? on: May 26, 2006 01:56:19 PM
Hmm...I might join myself.  Not for me (my name's Beth) but for my daughter, who we named Nanesko.  Japanese in origin, doesn't mean anything, pronounced like it looks.  Thing is, not only is there obviously nothing around with her name on it (since we made it up), but she absolutely loves her name.  She's only two and she can already recognize it when we write it down, so having something, a toy or a plate, with her name on it would be awesome!

I might consider this...Cheesy

Those are GREAT!  I LOVE that pillow so much.  I can't conceive of painting that on paper, much less fabric!  And the necklace is beautiful!

*excited Texas swap squeal*

Wow, I think I may just have to automatically join all of CosmicCranberry's swap ideas...I like how you think!

This would be so much fun...Hey Arnold was a great show!  I used to draw AHHH! Real Monsters! a lot, and my brother and I spent hours watching the Mario Bros. cartoon show.  Ooh!  And Garfield & Friends!

Okay, if this happens, I'm joining it.
