1  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Lips Question on: August 31, 2014 05:51:57 PM
Hi, all!

I have a quandary. I'm making Oblina (from the show Aaah! Real Monsters!) for a friend and she's almost done. The problem is, I can't figure out how to make her lips. I found one or two patterns online, but they don't really look like hers. Does anyone know any good lips patterns? Here's a pic for reference:

I was thinking some kind of shell stitch, similar to how some flowers are made.

Thanks!

Edit: Got it! I played around a bit with slowly increasing over a chain stitch, making sure to put a few taller stitches in the middle.
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Discussion and Questions / Holes when I decrease on: January 09, 2014 02:54:33 PM
I'm new to amigurumi; I've only made about 4 projects now.  I always do fine until I get to the decrease rounds, when I get these large gaps in between stitches. For my last project, I tried to sc across but ended up with a huge ridge where I joined the stitches. How do you get the bottom nice and even?
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Little Black Dress coffee cozy on: December 23, 2013 09:20:51 PM
I thought I'd join the fun and add a coffee cozy I made.  I don't have a written pattern; all I did was chain until it fit the coffee cup, then did several rows of sc.  On the last row, I made a sweetheart neckline by stitching (slst, sc, hdc, dc) in one stitch, (dc, hdc, sc, slst) in the next, then slst in the next and repeating the pattern in the next stitch. I want to make lots more coffee clothes! My next one will probably be a red dress with a ruffle skirt using ruffle yarn.
4  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello all on: November 22, 2013 07:53:13 PM
I've had Craftster on my Favorites list for a while now but have only recently started exploring.  I teach preschool in North Carolina.  I love to create all kinds of things but my favorite is crochet.  I can cook if I have a recipe but with crochet, I feel I can branch out and create something unique.  I've tried a few things and am currently working on "coffee clothes."   So far I have a little black dress cozy and an 11th Doctor cozy from Dr. Who. This looks like a great community; I can't wait to jump in!
