I haven't got to work a whole lot on my journal b/c it has been a hectic time for me.  But I've been thinking about it a lot, and even talking with friends about the topic of Freedom, so I know I will be ready this week when I have more time.

goatgoddess - thanks  for the tip about google images - I checked it out and realized that I'm going to have a lot of fun with that. 

Samantha- Happy Birthday!  That's great that you had a sweet sixteen b-day party!

Juniperthimble - congrats on your baby coming!  I think that spring is a great time for babies.

I recieved JoyousBohemian's journal about freedom.  I haven't read everything yet, but I'm looking forward to it.  I like how big the pages are.  Lots of room for "scope of the imagination"!

When I went to my parent's last weekend I took picutures of books that I've made for my mom in the past.

I made a book for my mom and then put inside poems that I have written.




I used a coptic stich.


To remember our trip to Prince Edward Island I made a book for my mom that used a map of the island as a cover.







This was for my mom's 50th birthday.




The last one is a journal I made for a friend for Christmas.  She wanted something that she could write in.  I haven't found out how to have lined paper that you can fold in half and sew, so I had to use graph paper.  I covered the different signatures with different papers, including old calendar pages.

JoyousBohemian - I really like your style and the detail to what you do.  This is going to motivate me to grow even more in my style.

Here are pictures of the journal I made.  I made it by hand and tried to make the binding have plenty of room to grow.

Sorry that I didn't send yesterday!  Yesterday afternoon I went to the computer to get the address and I couldn't get on craftster.  But it is all sent out now.

You could use a craft knife to cut them out so it is a clean cut instead of ripping.

It is so cool to see what people have been doing.  I 'm going to post my pictures when I get the pictures the right size.  One neat thing to see is the variety in the type of journals.  The bag is such a good idea!
