1  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Making Hot/Cold "socks"... should I use Rice or Wheat? on: November 06, 2013 05:42:41 PM
So... I'm going to try and make most of the Christmas gifts this year instead of buying because we're broke and because I can lol. I found a tutorial to make hot/cold "socks" and it calls for wheat... but I've also seen them made with rice. I was wondering, has anyone made some with both types? Which did you think was better? I tried to google but I didn't get far.

BTW, here's the tutorial Smiley http://www.brassyapple.com/2009/03/diy-therapy-sacks.html?m=1
2  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wool Felted Dryer Balls on: November 06, 2013 05:31:33 PM
I wasn't sure if I shoulda included this with my other post of wool felted soaps.. sorry if I did it wrong. I'm super new. But I wanted to share my other wool projects. Smiley

These are 100% wool dryer balls made with wool roving. I dry felt them, then wet felt them, then dry felt them. Kinda labor intensive but they are fun. Again, it's therapeutic to stab things over and over sometimes haha.

If I ever do detailed dryer balls again, I'll do a photo tutorial. Smiley
3  FIBER ARTS / Felting: Completed Projects / Wool Felted Soap on: November 05, 2013 07:15:36 PM
First time posting a topic on here... forgive me if I do something wrong. Smiley

I wanted to share my wool felted soaps I make. I may do a tutorial next time I make some. ^_^ These are wet felted onto soap, then the design is dry felted with a needle. It's so fun... pretty therapeutic piercing something over and over with a needle hahaha

I've done a few others but my old computer died and took some photos with it. Sad
