31  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / desperately seeking sock yarn on: March 13, 2006 11:00:01 AM
Am I crazy, or does no one make self-striping ONLY black and white yarn?
I've found zebra stripe and black, white, and insert-random-other-color.  Searching online is no good, b/c of all the sock yarns that have black, white, and other colors.
I just want to make Beetlejuice socks.  Is that so wrong?  Wink

33  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / ravioli stuffies on: February 07, 2006 09:23:52 AM
I made these for a swap.
Here's the crappy pic I took:
And here's the much much better pics aschnebly took: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=74798.msg736911#msg736911
34  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / knitted ice cream sandwich on: February 07, 2006 08:32:18 AM
aschnebly got her food swap package, so I can show off my sandwich!

It's made out of sugar'n'cream brown and cream and made me so hungry for ice cream sandwiches while I was making it that I had to put everything down and go buy a box.
Her (much better) pictures are here:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=74798.100
35  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / sequin/yarn question on: February 06, 2006 10:14:37 AM
I'm looking for something like Berroco's Lazer FX

but in hot pink.  Does anyone know if it exists?
I have light green yarn, and I want to make a discopreppy scarf  Cheesy
36  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Hankies! (I can't believe I've never posted these) on: December 22, 2005 11:16:07 AM

37  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Henry Rollins (with pics of Calvin Johnson on their way) on: December 20, 2005 12:43:10 PM
These are my first actual "I'm following a pattern, not just making stuff up" knitted things.
I forgot to take pictures of Calvin before I wrapped him and stuffed him in a box, but the friend I made him for has promised to take pictures once he arrives.

And if I ever decide to do this much (mediocre) duplicate stitching again?  Someone come to Evansville and hit me in the face, please.

(And look how happy Fisher looks in the sweater Nutella made him in the Little Visitor swap!)
38  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 'nother Jayne Cobb hat on: December 19, 2005 01:34:11 PM
(this might also be a swap spoiler for RobertBlue)

We were supposed to see Serenity (went out of theaters too fast  Angry) while I was doing the Little Visitor Swap.
Also my first attempt at dpns, which I'm now all about.
39  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / knitting ettiquette :P on: November 01, 2005 11:56:38 AM
So, if I have what may very well be sort of a proto-date tonight, but all I wanna do is work on Calvin*, do you think I can bring it? Wink

*I'm using the SnB Nation rock star pattern to make Calvin Johnson.
40  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Stitch And BOTCH / Who put the shield around the K? (Tiff, don't read) on: October 24, 2005 10:25:21 AM
I'm in the middle of using the Joey Ramone/Henry Rollins/Joan Jett pattern from S'n'B Nation to make a Calvin Johnson for my friend Tiff (hence the title  Grin) for Christmas.
There isn't enough space for the "I [kitty face] Olympia" shirt.
I sat there and figured out an intarsia/fair isle pattern for the K records logo.  Then I started following it, but forgot that I needed to count the other way for every other row.
So I started over.
Then I realized that I was going backwards on the wrong rows, and making a mirror image K.
That's when I gave up for the night.
On the plus side, if I ever do it right, this is going to look really cool.  Plus, he's practice, since I want to make Henry for my sister.
(subject title is a Nothing Painted Blue quote, btw)
