I'm trying to collect people for a crafty group, stitch and bitch, that sort of thing.

Johnny and Legs like puzzle pieces.  I've been working on the puzzle from hell b/c when I'm done, I'm going to Mod Podge it and stencil hot pink rabbits all over.  Sunday, I got almost 3/4 done, covered the puzzle, pushed the chair away from the table, went to Target, and came back to find half the puzzle back in tiny pieces, some complete with fang marks, all over the crafty room floor.
I think it's revenge for administering that back-of-the-neck flea stuff.
863  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Gazpacho on: June 09, 2005 11:47:10 AM
I love it, but I've never made it.  The recipes I've found are wildly different.  Does anyone have a tested and yummy gazpacho recipe for me?
864  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Vinegar on: June 09, 2005 11:38:32 AM
I've got a chocolate cupcake recipe that may be vegan (I don't remember, and I'll eat anything) that has a couple tablespoons of vinegar, and I've never noticed a vinegar taste to the final product.
You can experiment with different ones, too: my mom (who gave me the recipe--she's been making them forever) uses balsamic or regular Heinz white, and I've used rice.
865  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / Re: Kitchen Cabinet Refacing (with tutorial) on: June 08, 2005 11:05:39 AM
Thank you so much!  I hate my cabinets, too, and I've been trying to figure out what to do with them.
This is also great because I've been thinking about painting my kitchen orange and thrifted orangish plaid wallpaper a while back.  Yay!

Any crafty people closer to Evansville than Bloomington or Indy?
867  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / teen librarian needs crafts! on: June 07, 2005 03:47:23 PM
Actual programs where teens actually come into the library are usually not very successful for me, so I've been experimenting with drop-in crafts.  I put up a sign with an example and put a box of supplies underneath the desk.  The last one I did was the cassette notebook craft from here and Boy! was it successful (at least by my abismal statistics).
So now I need more ideas for simple crafts with YA appeal.  Any ideas?
