I bought cheap-o, ugly frames at the thrift and spraypainted them gold for my godzillas:

2  Re: knitscene's central park hoodie in Knitalongs by mllejessy on: September 16, 2007 04:55:25 PM
I'm finally posting pictures of mine.  And, fun with my camera's timer!

Please excuse my CRAZY eyes.  I have no idea what's going on there...

As a recap, I used knitpicks swish superwash in bright red.  I think I made the small?  I don't remember.  I didn't do buttons, but I'm thinking about adding some sort of cloak-ish closure.
I really love this sweater and am ever so glad it's fall-ish enough to wear again.

4  yet another gryffindor scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by mllejessy on: August 08, 2007 07:51:04 AM
I felt yucky all last week so I spent a couple days doing nothing but watching Buffy and Veronica Mars* and doing a bit of mindless knitting.
Voila, Gryffindor scarf!

It's that mock cable rib pattern.  I like that one because it's mindless but not super boring.  And it looks cool.  Here's a close up on the stitches:

I used Cascade I had left over from making Starsview's mitts from the End of HP swap: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=160608.msg1749032;topicseen#msg1749032

*and am now totally obsessed, btw

5  Godzilla block prints in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by mllejessy on: August 08, 2007 07:44:09 AM
I used this weird Speedball carving block (felt like a giant eraser) stuff I had never used before, and I don't think I like it.  Easier to carve, but cranky to print.
And I learned the 10 years is really too long to keep oil-based printing ink around lesson.  Woooo, mess!
I printed them onto some scrapbooking paper (cheaper than similar fabric).  The ink is a really dark purple, in case you can't tell.  I wanted other colors too, but my other inks and paints and things weren't working well.  I'm planning on getting ridiculous ornate gold frames.
All 3 godzillas:

The blocks (I only used one but the original idea was 2 godzillas going in opposite directions.  Eventually I'll get better ink and more paper and do that.)

Pictures are here if you want to see them bigger: http://www.flickr.com/photos/plasticbird/

I had a duct tape program this afternoon at the library and I made a bee.

Progress pic!

I'm loving this pattern so far.  I think I may do less blocks for the foot though--it seems like 5 might be too long.  Anybody else done that?

10  Re: The End of Harry Potter Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by mllejessy on: May 01, 2007 03:07:40 PM
OK, check out the awesomeness I got from Starsview!  It's all really great.

There's everything together.  That pillow, incidentally, is Gryffindor on the other side.

A whole bunch of Potterpuff stickers, magnets, and bookmarks (not shown are the Potterpuffs rainbow one, holding my place in Azkaban while I reread for Deathly Hallows clues, and the several holding places in the Punk Rock Aerobics book while I attempt to exercise  Cheesy ).  Check out the Sirius sticker--backwards so I can put it in my car!

I had to show you guys a close up of the book cover.  My name is the last one--hee!

And my very own post owl!

Thanks so much Starsview!  I know I'm late in sending--this week has been a bit wacky (not even time to visit craftster!) but I am sending tomorrow, I swear.
