1  Hippy Doodle Hoop Art in Needlework: Completed Projects by mommabear1963 on: September 06, 2011 01:06:29 PM
My first ever hoop art, I did for the hippy swap.  It took forever but I love it and now I am in love with the whole hoop art concept.

I learned several new stitches too

Ok Ladies, finally the pics of the stuff that TheSapphireMoon sent me, I am so sorry about the quality I could not get the picture editor to work right.

I am so excited I don't even know where to start......lol.....

Ok, she made this beautiful overnight bag

These colors are so perfect and the size, and just everything about it, One of the most beautiful bags I've ever seen and I travel a lot, much of the time impromptu and just take an overnight bag, this is so perfect for me.  And it has pockets....

I love fancy pants and she made me a pair of those.... again... perfect

I really really really wanted an apron top and she is the apron top queen, this top is so beautiful

It fits perfect... the colors are perfect, I am sorry the pics arent better.  Because I am so big breasted a must wear a bra, well and my 48 yr old sagging boobies, so I need to figure out a bra or something to wear with it that won't look so busy.  Anyone have ideas, because I love this top and I am going to figure out a way to wear it, even if it means flaunting sagging boobs.  lol.

A beautiful hemp and glass medallion necklace and another hemp necklace, a hemp bead and bell ankle bracelet
     Again, sorry about the pictures......

And there is more, a beautiful turquoise necklace and earrings, this picture does not do the color justice at all, a silver peace sign medallion  that says Peace on the other side,    this cute dress, a scarf and a couple of rings that I could not get a picture of

I feel so blessed, thank you so much Sapphire Moon, everything is perfect.  Now, I have to go and get busy.

Satina, I am so happy that you recieved already and are pleased with your package.

Just for the heck of it here is a picture of the salt crystal and hemp necklace that I made

The crystals I dug up at the salt flats here in Oklahoma, cleansed two ways and infused with relaxing, healing and protective properties.  Did it smell like lavender when you opened the box?

I am so happy it looks like everything got there without breaking.  That is such a stressor in these swaps sometimes.

I have had my package for awhile but things have been so crazy and every spare minute was spent working on goddessgarbs package..... but finally, here are the fantastic things that she sent to me.

group shot with the lovely card and decorated paper

next is this sweet pink messenger bag.  It reminds me of a cupcake, is that the idea?  Any way it is great, roomy with a long strap just like I like them.  and I needed this color, I do change bags to match my outfits

oh and also the organic chocolate.  I think every woman needs chocolate to feel better.  Oh, and goddessgarb, I had a large bar for you as well but my daughter ate it the day before she delivered.  I just knew you would not deny a girl going into labor a chocolate bar.  ha.

This is a neat book cover with a note that it is for my trashy novels.  Makes me want to go out and get a trashy novel just to put in it.  lol.

This absolutely awsome Johnny Depp swap journal.  This is so great.

The best book mark ever

This really cute and great wallet

I love that it says "no men"

I love it all, thank you so much goddessgarb.

Chocolate Jo was nice enought to allow us to use her idea and her poem.  Ours are not nearly as painstakingly made nor as pretty as hers but here they are:

Thanks for the warning, I reported to moderator.  Anyway, I am sorry that it has taken me so long to post pics, but finally here is the neat package that Linneybelle sent me.

Until Forever by JoHanna Lindsey.  My daughter has already read this one (in 2 days) and gone to the library to get more by this author.

next; God Game by Andrew Greeley.  I have never read anything quite like this before.  It took me awhile to get into it but I stuck with it and now I really like it.

Now the lovely book marks;

This one says "Never forget, music is too important to leave to the professionals".  I love it.
This one is like a treasure map, I love it too.

Thank you Linneybelle, it has been great fun.

10  Re: tha pirate queen and princessess in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by mommabear1963 on: June 20, 2007 04:25:40 PM
Well I am a picture hound so I wanted to add some close ups, Sassy and I had a good time putting this all together

the front and back of my shirt, was done with iron on transfers and painting

Front and back of my reconstructed jeans, patches and embroidery and behind the slits is the pirate fabric (pirate themed but could not resist the Bob Marley patch)

and when I saw this picture I thought "oh my gosh, are my pants always up my butt?"

Front and back of Sassys shirt was done with iron on transfers

these two shirts came from Wal mart.
skirt made new with pirate fabric from hancocks (gypsy skirt fashion, very easy to make)

Maggie's shirt we decided we liked just how it was, I think it came from Hot Topic, and it says "worst pirate ever"

The pants are thrift store shorts to match the shirt and we made the waist smaller but left the legs big to be like coulottes and sassy painted, embroidered, and made patches with the pirate fabric

see the "pirate booty "on the back lol

Ayla's shirt was just around the house and Judith painted it with puffy paint

it says "Captain Ayla" Aargg and has some read painting that is really cool that you can't see

and the skirt again made gypsy style with fewer tiers, out of the pirate fabric
