1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Get Product and Website Opinions / Would anyone mind critiquing my blog? on: December 15, 2013 02:05:03 PM
Hello!  I was wondering if anyone would mind giving me some constructive criticism on my blog, Craft & Thrift?

It's just a personal blog about crafting and thrifting (hence the name!), I'm not looking to start a business or write a book etc, it's just for me to document my crafting endeavours and maybe inspire some other people to craft along the way.

I've done some reading on starting a blog and I read many craft blogs myself, so I feel like I have a good basic grasp of how to start (good photos, regular posting schedule, bear in mind your audience but also write about what interests you etc) but I'm finding it a struggle to gain new readers.  I've been going about 5 months now, posting 1-2 times a week (which is a schedule I can manage alongside my day job and 'real life') but only have 6 people on Google Friend Connect and 11 in Google circles (some of whom are my real life friends so don't really count!).  My google stats don't seem to have a particular trend in words that bring people to my blog or websites that refer to me so I don't have much to go on there either.

On the one hand, it's just a personal blog and I'll keep going regardless of reader numbers.  On the other hand though, it seems a bit silly to be 'talking into the void' as it were, it would be nice to think that more than just my real life mates read along!

Any thoughts on how to gain readership?
