I want to start making a few bags, but before I do, I'd love to get some woven labels done. I have a design, and so far haven't had any luck finding somewhere (preferrably in Aust) that offers personalised labels, but at a small quantity. I got a quote for 1000 pieces! I am looking at 50-100 at the most, even thats too much, but I'm sure you can't get smaller than that!!!
I finished this bag last weekend, it's a simple and casual over-the shoulder bag. (similar to skipping girl tutorial posted here)
Lined with orange flower fabric, with a pocket on the inside and two pockets on the outside of the bag (for keys/mobile, wallet).
What do you think?
I'm planning to sell it on my shop website. It's not fully live (you can't buy anything as yet, and have yet to buy domain name, but will soon), but you can view my other creations at my designed by beck website. Hope you like my other bags/purses on that site! I'd love to hear your feedback before it goes live!
How do you fellow craftsters stay motivated with your crafty business; from making the products to the upkeep of your website.
I find I go through phases where I'm really motivated and enthusiastic, and other times where I can't be bothered and have no evergy. Because I work at a boring job full-time, and need to try to find a way to keep me motivated to continue my crafting outside of work!
Found this great red fabric at Ikea, and paired it with light blue linen fabric, and inside zipper pocket....I love pockets. I just made up the design, but it was quite easy to make compared to other bags I've made. Anyway, I'm halfway through my website, which I plan to sell this on. The straps you tie up, I haven't done this in the photos, as I spent awhile ironing it, so I didn't want to crumple it again! Hope you like it, I'm happy the way it turned out!
hi, I in the process of developing my online store. I'm in Australia, and I only want to accept payment in Aussie dollars, does anyone know what extra charges there are for people who use a different currency to covert to another currency?
I am wanting to get local and international customers, but I don't want extra fees to turn potential customers away.
I make handbags and casual bags. I enjoy making them, but I have hardly any time to do them. I work full-time, and I find it easier sewing during the day in natural light, so I don't sew after work (nor do I have much time), and on weekends I don't always have much time. I really want to start my online store, and I've just starting designing a website.
I just wanted to know, how much inventory should you have before you launch an online store? I guess if I went to a site with only a few items I wouldn't be inclined to go back, and I think it would look more professional if you have many items to sell. Any suggestions? I'd prefer to have my own website rather than ebay/etsy.
I need to get started with building my online shop, but need some motivation. IN the meantime I've got a bag I completed not so long ago. I finally took some decent photos of it. It's an over the shoulder casual fabric bag, with three pockets, including one zipper pocket. Took me 4 days, spending quite a few hours each day to finish. I designed the pattern, and the shoulder strap is adjustable.
Anyway let me know what you all think! I hope to get motivated again!
