1  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / making a mask..? on: October 11, 2013 11:37:03 AM
ok so this year i am making a total of 4 costumes. One is completely finished and the others are only missing a few last components but i am stuck on the only one that includes a mask. I have searched in the internet for tutorials and tips but this mask is not a silicone/latex mask it is an oogie boogie mask that i intend to make as part of the front panel for the costume in order to keep the ...cowl? hem only in the back. my problem is that while i  know how i will make the facial features ( eyes, mouth) support im not sure about the overall structural support. I dont want the mask to just fall over the persons head and droop. ive had a few ideas but so far the only one that seems like it might work is to make a system of tiny pillows on the inside of the mask to rest on the persons face and hold the masks shape. Im wondering if anyone else has run across this type of project and how they managed to keep the masks shape. Or even if you havent does it seem to anyone else that the pillows idea might work?
