Wow, I've tried (and failed) to make tree foliage before with the train set flocking and it was so difficult.  Yours looks so perfect and full.  Great work!

Hi folks,

This is another post of something I made ages ago, probably 2 years.  It was a present for my boyfriend and took forever.

I give credit as I used the same design/reference image as this quilt.

I used felt to make it, I had intended to sew the pieces down but in the end I just glued them with fabric glue because I was sick of doing it after about 6 weeks of evenings spent on it.  It's now proudly on display in our home :-)

Awesome cushion, where did you find the fabric?
34  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Re: Moomin Comic Book Decoupage Coffee Table on: October 22, 2013 01:30:26 PM
Very nicely done.  I like the effect you get from a distance of having the same background color repeated for several frames in a row.  I hope you and your family will enjoy using this table for a long time.  Smiley

Thanks, I hope it lasts too, I am having trouble getting the varnish right.  Water based or acrylic, very confusing!

Ooh I like all the Japanese things in there!  And of course, the rainbow colors are great too.  Cheesy

Tokyo is heaven for craft supplies!  I can't wait to go back and stock up some more.
You don't see pompoms on these very often! This is great. Thanks for the link!

Thank you!  I had yards and yards of pom poms left from another project, they're taking over the house :-)

I'd love to try this, it looks totally vintage and classy now.  Great idea!
40  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Colourful Rainbow Wall Hanging Made From Japanese Furoshiki on: October 21, 2013 05:22:25 AM
Furoshiki are squares of cloth used to wrap presents in Japan.  I picked up 9 of them from Taobao but you can find them in lots of places online.

I just sewed them all together!  Quick and colourful!  I really want to make a quilt out of them too.

Some of my favourite details...

There are a few more detailed pics on my blog and info on how I bought the furoshiki...it involves navigating a website entirely in Chinese though so might be easier to check out Ebay for them if you want to give this a go!
