Hey hey! Can I jump start this thread? I recently moved from Brooklyn to Redwood (near Alex Bay)...and haven't been on Craftster in years...BUT I would love to make some crafty friends up here - who's nearby?

Yes, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU, sharpie_slut! You really came through - all that stuff is amazing, and lightupmyroom deserved all of it.

Kickass! FYI - skateboard trucks drilled into the wall make excellent coathooks, and would complete the theme!

Dammit! I think I got rid of the trucks/wheels when I made these at my last apt.  That just further proves the Craftster adage: "Never throw anything away!"

I'm glad there's such an interest for round 2! If someone wants to organize it, that's fine with me - my life has been so crazed lately that I don't think I was the best organizer for this round - so you ladies should probably take over. Wink

Dismemberment isn't darling? Just kidding.

LOVE the h'ween shrine! I actually was just given 1 bag full of googly eyes and 1 full of monster legs, so I may go in that "scary shrine" route...

Oh no!!! I've been waiting for someone to take photos with me doing "action shots" but at this point I will just take some normal pics and post them ASAP. So Sorry!!!

The black sets it off so nicely, and keeps it from being toooo sweet.

Agreed! That pink needed that black. Great work.

You ladies are so inspirational! I need to post a couple shrines I've completed recently...When are we ever gonna get that shrine board?

Acrylic ("Plexi-Glass" is a brand-name) scratches VERY easily, though.  I think it differs from brand to brand, but I wouldn't think it would make a good table-top unless you were incredibly anal about coasters and sweeping it off with a soft cloth VERY often.  Harsh cleaners will make it cloudy, too.

Hmmm...I hadn't thought of that. I guess I was trying to think of analternative to glass...something less heavy and less breakable. I don't have room in my new apt to make this table anyway, so i have some time to do a little research!
